WHY DOES GRIFBALL HAVE FRIENDLY FIRE ON?!?!

It would seem as such a simple solution to disable it, do any of you know as to why it’s on?

i dont know either lol

Because Grifball has ALWAYS had friendly fire. To change that would ruin it. Just like Friendly Fire off ruins other gametypes. If you can’t avoid your teammates you don’t need to play.

Besides, the Gravity Hammer has a smaller radius which makes betrayals even rarer.

Because without FF you could launch your Grif with absolutely no repercussions.

Because it’s Grifball. It’s like people complaining about the game not being “Halo.” Grifball w/o Friendly Fire isn’t Grifball.

Because it has always been on since forever. Other than that I have no idea. That’s why as soon as I finished my hammer commendation I said fare thee well Grifball.

It actually has the biggest radius out of any Halo game.

However, I do agree with SnickerDoodle’s explanation. Now all we need is the ball exploding.

Except now you can throw the ball which is way more effective - of course no one in matchmaking appears to know how to do this…

Because in order for Sarge to kill Grif, Sarge needs friendly fire. With no friendly fire, there is no Grif killing for Sarge

Sorry, no it doesn’t. In Reach and 3 you could be a good distance away and still score a kill. Now you have to practically be on top of them to score a hammer kill. This has caused some people to be upset because it changes how Grifball plays.

A well executed launch is leagues more effective than passing.

Exactly, why pass the ball when you can pass a player? Score!

From what I saw last night a simple toss would be so effective. If you have the ball in your corner of the map, everyone on the other team will rush you. If your teammates would send just 1 person to the opposite end of the map in their zone instead of everyone rushing to “protect” you then you could just toss the ball to a wide open guy for the score.

If they want friendly-fire on for “league” matches then okay but for normal matchmaking where scrandy has bad intentions, then it would probably be better off.

The bigger question is, this is such a casual game, why would anyone care if it is on or off?

Because that’s how men play.

friendly fire makes it more grif! this game is awesome, so i honestly have no complaints

Perhaps Grifball could be modified to not include FF. Grifball Pro could then retain it… just a suggestion
