Why does Forge require the Halo App?

Who’s idea was it to require the Halo app be open for Forge to launch?

Now I can’t play the game because of some decision to force the Halo App on people.

Please, please decouple the Halo app the Forge app. There’s no reason to require the Halo app to run Forge.

(Yes, I glitched it once, Halo5Forge runs just fine as long as you can time it right so it thinks the Halo app is open. What an absurd thing to do…)

Um… I actually had to uninstall the Halo app to be able to run it, as the Halo app would keep closing itself when starting it. So now I just run the game on its own.

But that doesn’t allow you to connect to a lobby, build maps, or do anything else in Forge, right? At least, that’s the behavior I’m getting…

For me, everything works perfectly fine. The Halo app is just another way to launch the game, and a hub for other games on the PC. My guess is that the Halo app isn’t completely uninstalled for you, so its trying to start it, which might be why you get the errors.

Dude… I spent hours on this. I assumed I HAD to have the Halo app installed.

Sure enough, I removed it and Forge launches just fine. Thank you so much for telling me!

Now, if you could just go back in time so that I could’ve played Forge all weekend… :stuck_out_tongue:
