When I load into the game, all of the different menus take at least 3-5 minutes, sometimes ten or more (!), to load up. Armor hall, shop, Challenges menu, news. Anything that isn’t basic ui will sit there and load. and load. and LOAD. I’d really like to just get down to playing when I boot up the game. Is there any reason this is happening?
I know my PC isn’t completely hopeless because it runs other games fine on way higher settings, and my internet is fine because other connections are running at top speed. (All my infinite settings graphically are as low as they can go)
So what’s the deal here? Any tech savvy folks know what’s going on? And will 343 ever address this? Because I’ve been waiting patiently since it launched last november but it’s only gotten worse over time. (And now that Season 2 launched it seems like the graphical glitches are going absolutely insane but that’s a topic for another post perhaps)
It’s slow on Xbox Series X too and that console is a beast with most games. No idea why it is so slow. It’s not as slow as your PC, but it’s definitely noticeably worse than any other game I have played. Imagine it’s worse on OG Xbox.
It’s hard to go backwards with load times and such because we are spoiled in games now. Feels like an old game because of it.
If that’s the case, I don’t understand why it needs to be like that? I mean, we download these multigigabyte updates… for what? What are they storing on my computer if it isn’t the stuff the game turns into well, the game? Like, does it really need to pull the graphical data for the armor hall off the servers? why can’t that be stored on the machine? I wouldn’t mind half as much the loading times if I could just pop into the customization menus and goof around while the challenges and whatnot loaded.
Preview tiles for Battle Pass rewards and the Event menu may take up to two minutes to load after completing an online multiplayer match or watching a cinematic.
In some cases, the preview tiles for Battle Pass rewards may fail to load. If this occurs, the images should refresh after completing another online match or closing then relaunching Halo Infinite.
The Challenges, Battle Pass, Customize, and Shop menus may take up to three minutes to load. If these menus do not load within three minutes, try one of the following workarounds:
Complete an online multiplayer match.
On PC, lower the Maximum Frame Rate option in the Video settings menu.
This is still an ongoing issue. On my Xbox One, it takes that 3-5 minutes just to load my profile from local storage and connect to the Xbox Live network, it’s like it’s pulling from the cloud over dialup instead of my hard disk. And that’s if it even loads it at all without needing to be restarted. Only game I have this issue with, everything else is immediately imported from storage. And Xbox’s solution for ‘complete a multiplayer match’ does absolutely nothing since you CANNOT load a multiplayer match if you aren’t connected to live services. Is this game set up to completely ignore local save profiles and only load from the loaded network? That would be the only excuse I could see but my cloud saves from other games load faster on my friends console and they have the most basic internet just above using a phone line. Please 343, fix this. With as long as the game has been out, there is absolutely no reason why it should take as long as it does to import a sub 300kb save file.
Halo Infinite is the only game where I regularly have to hard reset my Xbox in order to get the game to load, or because the sound is coming through like static and crunch. Halo Infinite has never stopped feeling and playing like a Beta release, and every update seems to bring along more glitches.
This game behaves like a lemon, a money pit, fix one thing and something else breaks. I really do apologize for my pessimistic tone, but there are just so many problems, it is extremely difficult to be positive … for me anyway.
When I was playing on my Xbox One it always seemed to take a while to load but never more than a minute. I’m now on a series x and everything loads very fast. Since the winter update everything has loaded very quickly and I’ve not had any issues swapping between any of the menu sections and stuff loading.
I know everybody’s had different experiences with different versions on different platforms. I honestly haven’t had very many issues across the X1 or the series x. I guess I’ve just been relatively lucky.
So this wasn’t a thing for me only the past few days has this started up like this. Also this isn’t the first time this was a problem. They released, what they called a fix for this issue but it’s back and worst than the first time. I suspect every time they update this game and release new content the game is going to start breaking again and again.
I am unable to play PVP, because it’s so broken, I see many streamers who say the same thing, so the game being broken is not isolated to only a select few. I have only been able to play Bot-Boot-Camp, even though I prefer to play PVP, but now even Bot-Boot-Camp for the last few weeks has been a nightmare.
Load into a game today, and I play 3 matches, holy crap, I am rubber-banding and teleporting all over the map, plus the graphics keep flickering and breaking apart, the ground and the walls are coming apart, it’s next to impossible to play.
My question, how on earth are they going to fix this game? I only play a few matches for a session of self-torture, and then go play a different game, and no surprise, experience no problems. I really want to play Halo, it has always been my favourite game, and so It’s very hard to fully step away. Please fix the game.
One of the reasons is compiling shaders to avoid having to do so during a game. This avoids the lag usually seen in UE4 games when someone with a skin you haven’t seen before appears.
That’s interesting. My menus have been way better since the Season 3 update if you ignore the armour hall frame rate problems. Responsive and loading quickly with some nice cosmetic improvements.
Hopefully that means they are on the verge of getting it working well for everyone. I haven’t seen many people mentioning this one so it’s probably worth submitting a support ticket.
