It seems that almost every single game of Halo 5 I play there is at least one person who is wearing the fotus helmet. Does anyone know why so many people wear it?
they think its cool…they are wrong.
Because that sharp horn on the front makes the user’s melee attacks deal double damage.
Just kidding, but the two major reasons for wearing them would be: Because it’s rare and they want to show off, or because they simply like it.
I initially wore it because it comes with the Halo 5 special Xbox One console. I was under the impression at first that only people who got that console could have that armor, so it was just my way of showing that. I soon learned afterwards you can get this armor apparently through req cards. However, as far as I know the Vanguard emblem that also comes with the H5 console is exclusive to that console, so you cannot earn it through req cards.
I wore the fotus armor for a while, I liked it…helmet not so much. I prefer shinobi armor.
I only like fotus armor for one reason. My friend wears it and he hates when I smash his horn into the ground with my Lawn Dart assassination.
I think it might default to Fotus when loading the actual armor from the users profile. I could be wrong, especially since when I first load up Halo 5 and immediately check my friends or my Spartan, it’s all recruit at first. But in Forge, player’s are forced into Fotus a lot.

The default armor for everything outside of forge is the recruit armor. For some reason fotus is the display armor for forge instead of recruit. If you ever work on intros it shows the fotus armor. Also for some reason, if you get killed as the monitor when you enter spartan mode it spawns you with forus on. To fix it just kill yourself in spartan mode and you will respawn with your correct armor.
Not a fan of this armor or many that are in the game; there are still some great ones to be had though.

Ah. I knew a lot of that already, just thought it might be connected somehow.
I wear the armor cause it mentions my hometown. Little bit of city pride.

I don’t know why people like it so much. Its seriously fugly to me and always has been.
My guess is that the Fotus armor is quite distinct in appearance from the other armors available.
I haven’t noticed.
