Save for multiplayer, wouldn’t getting a halo 2 remake be boring within the first couple of hours? Are people going to want a halo 3 anniversary after that?
Halo 2 can still be played and if they wanted to revive the multiplayer why wouldn’t they just bring up servers for it or something? Rather than remake the whole game but with better graphics.

Halo: CEA was welcome as it was an old game in new light.
Well, boring? Perhaps, but it’s a while since most people played it and as they did add content to Halo: CE’s campaign they can certainly do it to Halo 2’s campaign, such as terminals and what not. As well as updated graphics, hopefully.

Halo CE Anniversary makes much more sense to me because it was the start of Halo.
If we are gonna get Halo 2 anniversary then why not a halo 3 remake as well? Where do you cross the line?
I for one don’t WANT the halo 2 multiplayer IF they make a H2A because frankly I feel its liable to keep people nostalgia blind, it’s a good game, don’t get me wrong, but so many people are just begging for the old halo remakes of late that I feel we could end up with some pretty stagnant MP. I know for me there’s no value in halo 2 MP, cause I’ve done it… I want new toys, which of course we wont get in a remake, but thats why I don’t like remakes (except purely SP remakes, they aren’t so bad, especially if the original was buggy)
H2A seems like a real waste of time and resources when there are so many new stories that can be told. Or at least that’s my opinion.
We could have things like an ODST sequel, a Halo wars sequel, a Spartan assault sequel, a game that takes Halo into a new genre like a Broadsword fighter game, a game based around the SIVs, or ONI, or Blue team or the Gama SIIIs or the pre Halo array universe, or the Sangheili separatists and so much more that can be explored and can be fresh and new.
But no, because another remake of a game that I already spent three years playing is a bigger priority in the eyes of the majority.
Plus there’s what ZoomGears said. Stopping at CE makes sense because it was the first game and it celebrated the anniversary of the franchise, not just the game itself. If we they do a H2A then stopping there would be silly, they’d be celebrating the anniversaries of two of the original trilogy. A H3A would be expected. I don’t want a H2A because it’s a waste of time a resources and it’s creation will likely mean that there’ll be another waste of time and resources three years from now. And do they stop there? Just leave it a CEA and lets let Halo move onto new things.

Agreed, although I personally wouldn’t be too happy to see a sequel of a spin off title.
Because Halo 2 was an awesome game and the first game many people played. There were many concepts dropped at the last minute due to constrictions. Flood juggernaut, some levels, if they can be added in the halo 2 anniversary remake, then why not, it would be like playing the same old game with whole new experiences.

Every Halo game is arguably awesome though with dropped features as well.

Well, if they put in all the cut features to the game, won’t people whine that its not a ‘proper remake’ or however they choose to word it? also, my first game was reach, do I think im getting a remake of than in 2020, nope…
I can only speak for myself and a handful of friends but we would like a H2 remake because as far as were concerned, we haven’t had a decent Halo multiplayer since the end of Halo 3. Ill rephrase that actually. Haven’t a good competitive Halo multiplayer since then.
We have to wait til next year to play a relevant Halo game. While i can still play 3 and Reach and indeed 4, the low populations and long wait times in 3 and Reach kill it for us.
A game like Halo Wars 2 or some kind of spin off is unlikely to hold us down a full year as well.
That’s why we want it.
> Because Halo 2 was an awesome game and the first game many people played.
There have been other awesome Halo games and games that were peoples first. I don’t think Halo 2 is all that special in this department. If a H2A is gonna be made because it has these qualifications than what’s stopping 343 from making H3A?
Why not make a new awesome Halo game instead?
> There were many concepts dropped at the last minute due to constrictions. Flood juggernaut, some levels, if they can be added in the halo 2 anniversary remake, then why not, it would be like playing the same old game with whole new experiences.
It doesn’t matter how much new content 343 pack into H2A it’ll still be less than that of what a brand new game will offer. We could have a whole new game that features Flood Juggernauts and new levels along with so much more.
Because some people believe Halo 2 is the epitome of the whole franchise.
and if the reactions to Halo 3 becoming free last year is any indication, some people might also believe that the release of the game will bring back the community and destroy every other game being released at the same time.

Halo remakes topping every other modern shooter? I have serious doubts about that.

Honestly, I’m mostly looking forward to the return of cut features. There were going to be several warthog variants, a few levels and some good cutscenes, some weapons, other vehicles, sprint, and a whole plethora of other things that ended up getting cut from the game due to time constraints. Plus, 343I would be able to put their own skin on everything and, using what they learned from H4, improve upon the alien designs and more. This is partly why I think a “Master Chief Collection” would be a good idea. It would unite the currently existing saga under one visual identity. It would give them the ability to retcon previous errors in the canon and add in all the things they need to reshape the Halo Universe into what it needs to be. While everyone has their complaints about gameplay, don’t ever say Frankie and 343I have problems with canon.
But mostly, I’m here for story.

You make it sound like H2:A has been confirmed.

zoomgears99, deltagenesis and mega066 i don’t quite understand such disdain for a halo game which i’m assuming you haven’t played the MP of anyway.
everybody’s perspectives are different, either way h5 comes out at the end of next year, so i welcome any MP game, it’s just a big bonus it being one that was very well recieved.
also deltagenesis that doesn’t make sense, you say that reach was your first game, yet you don’t want to play halo 2 because you’ve “done it”. if your first game was reach then no you did not play halo 2 MP, when it was ‘HALO 2 MP’
i don’t quite get the attitude of “i’m fine with re-making SP but not MP” yes that may be what you’re in to, but what is so wrong about MP that you don’t wish to see it.
speaking from my perspective i’ve played halo 1 and 2 campaigns about 30 times
and 3 and reach about 20-25, that’s more LONGEVITY than what most players get out of SP, yet i can assure you that is nowhere near the amount of MP slogged.
if you don’t enjoy it more power to you, but for people who enjoy all facets of halo it’s the MP that adds the longevity that halo 4 most certainly lacked that H2 will atleast deliver.
i’m not expecting huge numbers, but i am expecting a diehard population that won’t drop off into the 30,000s, especially not after 3 months
I would love for H2A to be real because while I played a lot of Reach and some Halo 4, I’m honestly burned out of armor abilities and all of the ‘cod-ish’ features. At this point I feel like it would be like a breath of fresh air to be able to play a proper arena shooter online again.
Halo 3 still has online support but unfortunately it takes a while to find matches due to everyone flocking to the newer games. Whether this is due to them preferring the newer features or simply because they’re newer games I guess we will find out.
The other thing is I love the campaign but it’s glitchy as heck if you run it on the 360. The most notable problem being the after-image that gets stuck on the screen throughout many levels. At any rate, Halo 5 will definitely be a new game and H2A would be something to help hold us over until then.
The other advantage to making H2A is that 343 can gauge how it’s received to see what direction to take their multiplayer in the future as Halo 4’s lack of long-term population retention would suggest that some sort of change is necessary.
Halo 3 already runs on the 360 so I doubt they will upgrade anything past Halo 2.

I don’t want that so much as I want to be able to play Halo on my Xbox One and I can’t really think of another thing they could release. H2A is almost guaranteed to be fun and guaranteed to sell. A sequel spin off isn’t nor is a new spin off entirely.
They’re also in the middle of making Halo 5 so H2A is probably a lot easier for them to deal with.
> Halo 3 already runs on the 360 so I doubt they will upgrade anything past Halo 2.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Halo 3 gets unplugged within the next couple of years.
