So a thread or someone brings up Firefight. And then everyone gets in on the discussion and they all generally agree that FF blew except for ODST FF. Why does everyone keep forgetting that you can COMPLETELY customize Reach FF? Like, play it however you want? You know what ODST had? No customization for FF whatsoever.
Now, let’s back up here a second. I will give you that if we took out the Customization options that Reach had and then compared the two FF modes side by side, ODST would be the winner indeed. But the point is that Reach DID have customization. ODST doesn’t and that alone makes it at least equal to ODST’s FF.
Too much of a good thing. In reach you can make yourself invincible or make the 1 million points achievement or endure weekly challenge ridiculously easy, while in odst you had to play it normally and there was no cheap and easy route to take. The only time I use reach’s custom firefight option is for when I set up my quick and easy endure the return. Due to networking problems playing it normally is not an option for me, and there is no real point to play custom firefight when you don’t get anything out of it. Welcome to Reach’s FireFight; it’s a great way to get credits, while custom games don’t really give you anything.

Exactly! I hate how everybody only mentions Arcade Fight… You can play classic or even customise it so that you only have health, more damage resistance, no health recharge and you can’t get killed by headshots. And Bam! you got yourself some “real classic” firefight.
I also love to play as an Elite in FireFight, it’s so much fun to sneak up behind the Spartans or give your Elite buddies Energy Swords and Fuel Rod Guns.
Heh, I’ve now made over 30 Firefight variants. Examples include implementing the Nanosuit 3.0 (All 3 abilities are constantly on.), playing as Spaceman Spiff, as Iron Man, and even going so far as to make a Humans vs. Aliens variant. (The Xenomorph kind, mind you.)
