Why does everyone hate on Halo 4

I really hate that everyone hates on this game. They keep saying “O 343 is terrible and don’t listen to the community”. If they didn’t listen how come they fixed the Complex glitch. Why don’t all you haters just try to enjoy a good game and stop Yoinking about it

Three words.

Because. It. Sucks.

Glitches are their mistakes, they didn’t do it for us, they did it because they had to. If not, the quality of the game wouldn’t be that of a AAA game.

Halo 2 was another thing, since they actually supported competition, but that doesn’t mean that Halo 2 didn’t also have game braking glitches that were never fixed.

Get the -yoink!- out of here. Superman 64 sucks. Not this.

what’s the matter? afraid to face the cold, hard truth?

No. It. Doesn’t. Get. Out. Please.

they didn’t listen to the community.

the community warned and warned them of the problems with the game before launch, we warned them about the DMR, boltshot, spawns, sprint, AAs, no weapons on maps, maps themselves, pretty much everything.

do you know what the community got in return for trying to help? “trust us, its halo!”… zero acknowledgement but instead they were just blinded by there own ego.

Why do you thank me, just to contradict my post?

EDIT: ahhh good, you removed your thanks. It’s important to be dedicated to your side of the arguement

Halo 4 is a terrible Halo game, and it should have never been released in the state that it’s in!!!

> Halo 4 is a terrible Halo game, and it should have never been released in the state that it’s in!!!

Exactly!!!

343 had the tools to make a great halo game and what do they to? They make an unfinished, COD rip-off.

EDIT: Not to mention that they didn’t listen to the community, and pretended to ignore the mistakes they made.

“If you want to save your friends, solve my maze!”

On a more serious note, a lot of the problems people have have possible solutions which haven’t been implemented yet. The issue is that a lot of things were taken out when they could have just left them as options to turn on or off.

That’s one major issue with the game…

There are several others.

They do this for every Halo game. They see gameplay some even play it before it comes out, talk about how it’s the best Halo yet and then once the game comes out…“this sucks”. It’s a normal thing now, reach, 3, and 2 had this outrage and 5 will too. Not really a big deal more than half that hate the game still play it xD.

I tried. OK. I tried to believe that halo was moving in the right direction. I supported Halo 4 before it came out. And when it finally did come out, I did my best to remain optimistic. but the more and more I played it, the more I grew to hate it. I went back to reach for awhile to play with my friend who didn’t have halo 4. and when I came back, I realized that Halo 4 was not a halo game anymore. It was nothing more than an unfinished game, trying desperately to be a COD wannabe. Right then and there I decided that I was tired of blindly supporting this game, and face the hard reality of Halo’s future. It’s all going downhill. and when it hits rock bottom, it will crash and burn.

If the game sucks so much, then why are you still here? Clearly you dislike the game, yet you feel the need to stick around to mock other’s opinions about the game. Are you honestly that insecure about your own views that you feel the need to say your opinion is the only one that is right? The game is flawed, yes. It does have problems that need to be fixed; everyone can agree on that. Some choose to make the most out of the game, while people like you stick around only to complain. If you really thought it sucked, you would have moved on from these forums already and played a different game.

Yet you stick around just to keep saying it sucks. That kind of immaturity is helpful to no one, and since you care so much about the game based on your need to complain about it, how about giving some constructive criticism? Offering some advice to improve upon the game, you know? If you can’t even do that, then honestly, just leave or you’re proving my point even more.

I would, but nothing we say matters here so what’s the point?

Well with that logic, then what’s the point of saying it sucks? At least with constructive criticism, it has the potential to offer insight. And how can you possibly say “nothing”? 343i has fixed bugs, responded to myriad tweets in order to help people out, apologized for the specializations issue and everything else, gave us a date finally for the file share, listened to feedback about spartan ops and now are adding different environments, releasing a map pack with much smaller maps, releasing a big TU that is said to fix balance issues, and you say that “nothing” we say matters? Granted, some things haven’t been delivered yet, but our feedback has an impact, great or not.

I find the main reason why people hate on Halo overall within the community, is because a lot of people expect some amazing, legendary return of Halo 2 gaming and it has not happened. Before Halo 4 came out I prepared myself for something completely new and different and tried to research Halo 4 as little as I could just so I could face the game head on and be truthful about my opinion. I play both COD and Halo games so when I began playing Halo 4 one word popped in my head: DIFFERENT. Halo 4 had a huge multiplayer makeover which I adapted to and quickly learned to enjoy. I accepted the fact that 343 wanted to make a whole new game and in my honest opinion they did a great job.

I acknowledge the fact that they are not Bungie and want to make the new trilogy in their own style. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay feels great in my opinion. Something we need to accept as the Halo community is that we need to move forward not backwards, there is a reason they are nostalgic memories and nothing more. It’s like wanting to go back in time, it’s just not possible. I am happy with the way Halo 4 has panned out and once people face the fact that there’s no going back, but instead to look forward to new and different things, we’ll be all right.

the community wanted halo 2.5 only to be slapped with a cod copy with and other disappointments such as CA crap forge

Because this is the trend:

Halo: CE - Players loved it. Couldn’t get enough of it and thought it was one of the best FPS’s out there at that time.

Halo 2 - Players complained that Halo 2 should have been like like Halo: CE and kept complaining and complaining about it until they finally realized they actually liked it.

Halo 3 - Players complained that Halo 3 should have been like like Halo 2 and kept complaining and complaining about it until they finally realized they actually liked it.

All the other Halo’s after Halo 3 continued this trend.

You see, Halo 4 is getting on players’ nerves because it just isn’t like Halo 3. But just wait. Everyone will come to their senses and realize that Halo 4 is indeed a good game.

And just watch. I bet you players will do the EXACT same thing for Halo 5 and 6. It is just a trend that cannot be explained fully.
