I’ve been playing for some time now and i really enjoy the game, but when i came on the forums to see what people were saying about it, it just seems like everyone is picking holes and hating 343 and halo 4.
I don’t get it, this is my number one game this year and it lived up to my expectations and its the only game I’m satisfied with this year.
People have different opinions on how Halo 4 should play, also the game feels like a beta sometimes, quite a lot of bugs, glitches and downgrades across the board.
Not everyone hates halo 4. Most people who enjoy it are playing it and not browsing the forums. Ill admit when I first started playing I was super pissed with the multiplayer but now that Ive played it more I enjoy it a lot.
Because some people want a copy and paste Halo 3 which I wouldn’t ever buy. I’ll play COD if I want to play a copy and paste game. People just have blind hate because they blame 343 for introducing COD but yet, the population hasn’t slumped yet and no doubt it’ll grow after christmas. I’m enjoying the game, as many of my friends are and they are competitive players.

Precisely. People need to realize that this isn’t 5 years ago. copy and paste works for COD because it’s playerbase is used to it. Halo’s playerbase is used to fresh experiences and while there are CODish elements in Halo, they’re made to work. You can add any aspects to a game from another game, and make them work. It’s not impossible.
I even made a this isn’t 2007 thread and that got buried.
I wouldn’t say I hate it… I love the game, but the thing is there are so many small problems that could have been (probably) easy to fix if the just released a public beta. The lobby is a bit clumsy to get around, the level cap seems just a bit too low… I mean its the small things that make me a tad frustrated.

Oh sod off.
In reply to the OP, Halo 4 has removed a shed load of options that have been available in previous games, even in customs.
The playlists are really really odd, with there being no option to play slayer FFA for example.
Join in progress has broken matchmaking, with plenty of games starting with lopsided teams, seemingly in the hope that JIP will sort it out. Which is pretty dumb.
In Campaign, the Promethians are pretty uninspired, and are noticeably worse than the Covenant, a problem amplified when you switch from fighting one to the other.
Most people are really pissed all the good custom games have been removed or just broken. If you don’t really play customs, then you really can’t understand.

What because it’s the truth? If Halo 4 was a carbon copy Halo 3. I WOULD have gotten Black Ops 2 and would’ve never bought another Halo game. Sorry but I don’t want a 5 year old game coming out 5 years later

wow people. how about thank you 343 for bringing us a new halo. thank you for the sweet -Yoink- armor thank you for keeping halo going and for something the cry babys can cry about. hey try this go to school and learn how to and make your own game and lets see how well you cry babys do on your game. this halo is a step in a new direction and so far I believe they did a good job. needs so patching but other than that, great game.

No, because you’re dismissing peoples completely valid concerns on the assumption that they just want a game like the old ones. Wanting to play a complete game that starts with even teams is nothing to do with nostalgia for Halo 3, it’s totally down to good design. This is something that should never have been allowed to happen in the first place.
It’s pretty simple that in a 4v4 playlist, starting a game with three players on one side and one on the other isn’t going to work. Or my favourite, when it started a match with me as the only participant. Why am I being allowed to vote on the map for a game that will instantly declare a win because I’m the only player?
People need to wrap their heads around the idea that not everyone is criticising Halo 4 for not being Halo 3. There are some things that really need to be improved in the game that will benefit everyone, with no downsides to anyone. Asking for these improvements does not equate to being stuck in the past.

Game rule issues (JIP, weapon despawning, lack of ammo, dynamic spawns)
I think a lot of people are upset because they can see/feel that Halo 4 has amazing potential to be a really good Halo game, but that this potential is being completely squandered by a really sloppy “everything else”.
Some of the issues with H4… I just don’t see how they could have made it into the final game.
H4 feels like a beta to me, that hints at an amazing finished product.
