Why Does An Armor Set Cost $20?

True, I forgot about pre-purchases.

Same thing happened to me with the HCS armor. Since I’m using the armor that cost me $10 bucks, the battle pass becomes meaningless for me.

At $5 per armor set = instant buy
At $20 per armor set = not a snowman’s chance in hell

I honestly can’t figure out if they honestly thought players were going to drop money at these prices. $10 for a shader? WTF.

you’d be surprised what prices other big franchises have to offer for even less value in their F2P games.
H:I with their 10$/20$ sets is pretty chill compared to a lot of other F2P games where you have to pay for simple skins twice as much.

Hadn’t seen this before now, I agree with the OP.

It’s clearly a rip, at the end of the day, just don’t buy them and if enough people do that, 343 will be forced to see sense and drop prices as they’ll be making no money from their microtransaction plan…

Welcome to Halo 2021. Where there are pretty much no playlists and everything is overpriced.

I’d be fine with some content aimed at whales if there was also some aimed at the smaller fish. Seems they don’t want our money if we’re not rich.

Even in HALO 5 YOU COULD PLAY to earn enough points to buy packs which had cosmetics. I understand we aren’t having loot boxes but the idea can still stand. If you are going to give slow progression why not give us credits too, even if it takes more time that way than buying the battle pass or items outright

Yes why is it?

Several reasonns, although not all reasons are excusable. My thoughts in general are:

  1. Microsoft decides, and might be a few economic heads at 343 that agrees. In general MS chains 343 there. So even if 343 wanted to have lowered the prices they have to convince MS

  2. Its a Free to Play game. The income HAVE to come from somewhere. To pay the share to shareholders, MS themself, 343 staff/ dev/ etc salaries, for future content, maintenance of servers and so on.

  3. You could ask, whats the bare minimum salesprices they can have for the Store without it negatively hamper the income and put Halo Infinites content and developement future in jeopardy?

My suggestions, might not be realistic or fitting but still.

2000 Cr bundles should contain at least, 20 items to be worth it. 1500 Cr = 15 items, 1000 Cr = 10 items.
Im aware that a few 750, 500 Cr bundles put a dent in my suggestion since they have had more items than my gradual idea have. Like, think I saw one 500 Cr bundle have 7 items. So my 500 Cr for 5 items seems like a worse deal… UNLESS the items are of higher interest quality.

Besides bundles, theres gotta be INDIVIDUAL items categories. Charms, Coatings for Armor/ Weapons, Emblems etc. Rarity could decide price as basis. But preferrably NOT double digits. NO base colors, base armor/ helmet parts etc should be in STORE btw!

Here in Norway. 500 Credits is like 49,00 Kroner, well just rundt it up to 50 Kroner

Sooo. Say a Rare armor coating, regardless of type of material, amount of color channels. Could be worth 25 Kr/ 250 Credits. Legendary? Hmm… 750 Credits or 75 Kroner. I expect high standards though.
BUT, yes what WE think is worth what is as said HIGHLY subjective.

Not least NO past armor pieces from ANY Halo game should be in store. But earned/ free ( bp, non premium )
They should be gotten in battle pass, for doing something awesome in Mulitplayer, Beating the Campaign on Heroic, Legendary, Mythic, LASO etc. By accomplishing Challenges, Ultimate at that. Some could be tied to hard to get medals, just not unreasonable tough. Like controller smashing ones.

And Im ALL for Armor Cores, to make each armor Core unique and distinct. However armor pieces that are LORE/ CANON friendly to swap between would be welcome. And there could be a few variants of some armor parts and helmets.
The EOD helmets have one which have two separate visor eyes, the other a simple visor slit. I prefer the one with two eyes so to speak. SInce so few other helmets have this look. Making it more unique.

Think of Halo Reach as of having just the Mark Vb armor core, it practically does. ALL of the content from there should have been free/ earned in Halo Infinites Heroes of Reach Battlepass.

I dont want say, having MK V parts on a Mark VII or MK IV. It makes it pointless with cores. Dosent make each armor core/ set unique. Having the swathe, hordes of parts, helmets, extras separate for each core is my wish, but have a few ones that is interchangable is totally fine as long as it islorecanon.
Wild mitchmatches is reserved for Fracture armors like Yoroi, you know.

BUT. Coatings! COATINGS as they are now should be shared among ALL cores.

All the armor is Gen III, so there is no real reason to limit anything that fits to one armor core. So at the very least all helmets should work with all cores.

Darn it, forgot the Tech Suit Gen stuff.
Hmm… yes… Gen 1 is kinda obselete. Even Red Team upgraded their MK IV armors to Gen 2 tech suit platform with tech gotten from the Ark. Which again explains their shielding. They had in Halo Wars too but that was only for gameplay reasons…
Sorry, off track…
I agree if the Techsuit/ Gen 2/ 3 thingy is the key to cross mix. Interesting
