Ok to be fair, they’ve never not charged for Campaign expansions, given the only ones to ever exist were ODST and the Halo Wars 2 ones. That’s fine. The annoying thing is that it’s still rather ill defined what exactly you’re getting value wise with buying the campaign when it seems everything else is free & there’s no firefight or anything.
Honestly though it isn’t worth it anyway, just get gamepass, play the campaign, then once you’re done let it lapse lol, went affect the multiplayer anyways.

Agreed! Free to play is an attempt to sound generous. They know everyone who is a fan of Halo will buy the campaign for $60, now they’re just trying to get more cash out of those who are willing to spend money to get customization. Sad thing is that if the customization could be used in the campaign as well I’d probably consider buying the battlepass…
There will be plenty of people on this forum who will simp for the devs, saying “hey they have to make money somehow it’s a F2p game,” forgetting entirely that the last two decades of gaming were funded just fine with $60 campaigns.

I wanted to point out how hypocritical it was of 343 to say they put players first by ensuring the battle pass will always be available for purchase, and avoiding FOMO and turn around and drop items outside of the battle pass for $20! If I can earn everything from premium battle passes, fine I can accept that. But to “unlock” everything requires you to drop more money than what a new game retails for.

The battle pass NEVER expires! So if you’re a good little Spartan and have hours upon hours of free time, you can GRIND OUT those challenges and EVENTUALLY get EVERYTHING! You’re not missing out on ANYTHING!!! Give them your money! They have your BEST interests in mind!!!

This is definitely a free to pay model at this point. I don’t think COD is this bad, then again I hadn’t played in a while. Maybe everything sucks now…It’s a fun game, it’s all optional, but it’s like sorry have to pay to be cool.

Yeh this is annoying. So basically sounds like not everything can be earned in-game because it sounds like content is blocked by a paywall. Doesn’t seem to be any way to earn ‘credits’ either. Basically feels like 343i greed has essentially ruined what I love about unlocking content in previous games and blocked access to anyone who wants to earn it in-game. If they was going to pull this nonsense I would have rather have just paid for the multiplayer instead of feeling like ripped off by stupid MT.

It’s how they’ve been able to launch the MP for free.
Cosmetics and add ons cost the $$.
Whenever they spoke of FOMO, they only referred to it in relation to the BP, because BPs in the past would lock you out from items if you didn’t get them in time. You can get everything in the BP (if you buy it), but the store isn’t connected to the BP. So 343 didn’t technically lie.
Either way, you’re just reinforcing my point that this entire thing is garbage.

Nah, multiplayer is fun when my teammates actually know how to play objective and aren’t LITERALLY SHOOTING WATER IN MY KILLCAM.

Kind of feels like it. The way there handling the game makes me feel like the games is going to slowly go in decline due to 343i’s greed.
If they added in the ability to earn credits I could let MT issue slide to some degree but them blocking content is irritating.
The lack of a proper rank system similar to Reach Inheritor or Halo MCC’s rank system makes me feel like I’ll end up playing it less. which is a shame since the multiplayer is fun.
I feel like population may end up going the same way Halo 4 did on the 360 if 343i don’t do something about the stupid credit system. Kind of feel like 343i just ignored the complaints Halo 5/HW2 involving MT.

And even if you completely take away the store, the Battle Pass costs $10, meaning you have to shell out $10 for the armor offered in the Battle Pass. The second you buy something in Infinite, whether it’s a skin from the store or even the Battle Pass, Infinite stops being a F2P game, and it’s ffucking disgusting!
MCC’s system was literal perfection, Idk why shit has to constantly be changed. I would much rather pay for the game, get a Battle Pass for free, and actually play the game and earn Points in order to unlock stuff from the Battle Pass.
I much prefer the classic games compared to Infinite, I also much prefer the system that MCC uses compared to Infinite’s, so honestly I think I might just go back to MCC.

Yeah the standalone armor is hideously overpriced compared to the pass, though I haven’t played pretty much any other F2P game to compare it with. Regardless, definitely doesn’t feel worth it to me.

343 NEVER said anything about campaign expansions but the forums came up with this rumor that they’ll be free… now we have $20 skins.
Each campaign expansion will probably be 25-30 dollars.
