Why does a 1HK weapon curve?

Just a few trifles ago I had been sparring in the Doubles ring, and to be rather frank I had been pounded against the ropes quite hard, and in the midst of this I realized something…

The Railgun is a one hit kill weapon provided the ammuntion directly penetrates a warrior’s armor, and yet…said ammunition CURVES! Yes, ladies and gentlemen do hear me out and do not be deceived, a one hit kill weapon not only kills instantly, but it’s munitions curve as if it were heat seeking!

ThreeFortyThree Industries, I shall be quite honest with you and inquire deeply about the subject matter at hand…why have you decided to conjure up some a lethal abomination from the pits of Halo’s hell? I do not believe I need to elaborate further about this quarrel of mine, it should be obvious as to why I’m buttfrustrated.

Yeah, Railgun magnetism is kind of high. Don’t get me wrong, I still like it, but you can aim at someone with the very corner of your reticle and still kill them.

its called bullet magnetism a lot of weapons have it. and as for power weapons look at the fuel rod for a prime example it has had magnetism since at least halo 3

fuel rod is brutal

The Fuel Rod’s magnetism in Halo 4 is crazy. I don’t think the magnetism of most weapons (besides the DMR) is too big a problem, but the Fuel Rod Cannon seriously tracks players.

On what maps does the Fuel Rod Gun spawn?

> On what maps does the Fuel Rod Gun spawn?

Not sure. I’ve heard Exile has it, but I haven’t see one. Other than that, you have to get it in Ordnance.

Longbow, Usually in the caves near B base

No wonder. Does extraction have Longbow, I know it has Exile.

Haven’t seen it there at all, which kinda sucks because it’s a really rare ordnance drop in my experience.

And yet, most people still suck with it.

The railgun curves so much because if it didn’t, it wouldn’t be a power weapon. It’s the same reason you get aim assist with a scoped in sniper rifle and rockets lock on to Banshees. Your weapon can do a ton of damage, but if it doesn’t hit, it’s useless.

Also, as I rarely (or should I say railry?) see the railgun as a tool of destruction, I don’t worry about it. Not to mention that you normally get 4 shots with it, sans Ammo. Now tell me, how many rockets do you get?

It doesn’t have to be easy to aim to be a power weapon.

True, but it is more of a power weapon when it is easy to aim. Take the concussion rifle for example. It kills in 3 shots, has 6 shots per clip, and comes with 18 shots total. That’s 6 potential kills… assuming you can hit of course! If someone’s got a concussion rifle, I’m far less afraid than if someone has a sniper, rocket laucher, or even a needler. It’s a “power-weapon” in the sense that it’s not loadout and has high killing potential, but it is very low-tier due to it’s accuracy. So the railgun becomes a more powerful power weapon because it’s easier to hit with.

I’ve actually gotten a few across the map kills with this beast, so I believe it.

Another instance of Halo 4 holding the casul’s hand.

Also, bear in mind lag - if you’re on the bad end, it is difficult to dodge projectiles in any game as they always have a head start despite what you see on your screen.

Cross-mapping would mean that it’s outside of magnetism range, so props to you, for making those kills without bullet magnetism.

I like the trick where you can use your visor zoom to zoom in with the railgun while it’s charging, even though it lacks a scope.

The only weapon where bullet magnetism is a problem is the sticky grenade. My god, noobs just blindly toss these, and somehow they always manage to just gravitate toward me.

You guys must be playing a different game than I. I’ve gotten it numerous times on Exile. It usually spawns later into the match below the bridge beside the Scorpion cove and it’s also a PoD. Also, it tends to spawn in the caves leading to B on Longbow, and it’s also a PoD on Vortex and I’m pretty sure Ragnarok as well.

Cross-mapping those pesky base camping camo snipers on Ragnarok with the Railgun is oh so satisfying. They never knew what hit 'em.

This wouldn’t happen if the railgun were hitscan. The bullet travels rediculously slow, while theoretically the bullet would actually travel faster than that of a sniper rifle.

I even made an entire thread about it.
