Why Does 343 Keep Removing Social Playlists?

Now Social Playlists have been around for all Halo and it sucks in Halo 5 that they get keep getting removed. Now we had Social Snipers if you may remember. Now when I log in to Halo 5, its gone. This made a little bummed due to that I like snipers and I like to constantly no-scope everyone. Its fun. These Social Playlists such as Social Snipers, Social Fiesta, and More should be Permant playlists. Please agree with me on this. Thanks everyone.

We do agree on this but 343i has this whole rotational playlist idea going on.

They have been doing it ever since they became in charge. They refuse to see it as flawed after all this time.

We were told social was going to be rotational. So I don’t understand why people are surprised when the game rotates. Not every game type should have its own dedicated room. That would fracture the online population too much leading to longer wait times for games and more likely to get skill mismatches.

Not really the times and pop will still be the same. I’m on mcc almost the entire time now because the play lists I want are not there and I can say that other people are on different games because there is getting very little verity in halo 5. Hell only one of my Xbox live friends still plays halo 5 and not that much rest is on mcc

343 doesn’t even know what social is, getting banned for quitting social shouldn’t be a thing.

Honesty, I think 343I do it because in there minds it keeps things “fresh” which in a way I guess it does…in a way… but not really. I would rather they just have ranked and social and not arena and warzone. Ranked play has arena in it with those playlists and social has warzone and such in it. Seems pretty easy to me.

Also I think they are afraid that finding games will take longer and people will start questioning the population of the game and they clearly don’t want that hence they don’t have a population counter.

I think they’re scared of spreading their population too thin. Remember when they had DLC playlists in Halo 4, and basically no one in them after the first week?

Technically it’s rotating, not being removed, but I see your point and I agree. Need more playlists.

The population is dying because they are not adding more playlists, so they continue to not add more playlist, thus it being a self fufilling prophecy

Bingo, give this one a beer. They sold out to warzone, hence eliminating a total grouping of social playlists. Solid business move, poo poo move in the long run.

Its sad really, but clearly the sca… req packs are doing well.

I’m taking a brake from Halo till there are better playlist options. So far all I like to play is Breakout (not much cause people always quit), BTB, Feista, and Warzone.

I’m hoping Dominion will come back at some point or some thing really interesting. I don’t get the point of assault it’s like a really crappy version of Ricochet which was cool.

I would say that we should have a Social equivalent to team arena as a permanent playlist, and then have things like Grifball and Fiesta on rotation.

So basically, (plus its a nice round ten)

Team Arena
Slayer
Free for All
Breakout
SWAT
Warzone
Warzone Assault
Social Arena
Big Team Battle
Rotational Playlist

In all honesty part of me sees Breakout being dropped unless they can refactor and revamp it a bit, otherwise it might just be on a rotation. Depending how Doubles works out for population it could be a replacement.

Breakout is a dead playlist, which sucks because I like breakout, but you can’t find games for it.

“Spreading the population thin.”

I feel there’s times where this is a valid argument, and times where it’s just complete nonsense.

I’m sure someone who prefers CTF can still find some enjoyment in Assault, they’re pretty similar gamemodes at their core despite their differences. If CTF and Assault are in the same playlist, those who prefer one over the other will still probably be able to tolerate the one they like less. Thus it makes sense to put these modes in the same playlist in order to keep population fairly contained and search times low.

However, if you force two polar opposite kinds of people into the same playlist then neither will be happy. Imagine if the game’s only competitive playlist is also the action sack playlist. Half the people in the lobby will instantly dashboard when they get Griffball instead of Team BR’s, or vice-versa. The other half will start a mostly empty game. The playlist will suffer from extremely long search times as a result. Over time two entire sections of the community will just drop the game entirely because they’ll grow tired of not being able to play what they want half the time. Not only will you have failed to have preserved the population, but you’ll have contributed to directly reducing it. There’s a reason we have distinct playlists in the first place instead of just one single cluster -Yoink- of a playlist.

Remember in halo 3 we had team objective and (I forget the social name) team objective. If you left the game you lost exp, it worked well too.

The simple truth of the matter is that if they continue to add social playlists then those playlists will take population away from Warzone which reduces the number of ppl buying REQ packs which reduces income and subsequently reduces profit. Simple.

Simple as that.
Same reason they destroyed custom community and BTB

because they are 343
