Why does 343 hate Doubles/2v2?

A mainstay staple in every Bungie Halo, suddenly reduced to a late addition at best, rotator at worst (or atm non-existent). I’m not going to make a long and drawn-out thread, it’s apparent why it’s a desirable paylist and was part of the core offering for so long. Stop missing.

I personally dislike doubles, but they confirmed it’ll rotate in S2

Yeah, I mentioned this. Rotating a core playlist is terrible though. It isn’t something unique or off the wall, it’s a basic playlist size. MCC does it right, you can search any size you choose.

People shouldn’t have to change their plans around when a core playlist is rotated in, it should always be there as it was an essential part of the series for over a decade.

Since Halo Infinite has a low player base, they can’t afford to split the population.

It’ll have more players if it had offerings people expect and desire. This excuse is terrible, no offense to you at all of course.

Besides, doubles takes four players, it’s not like it’s an introduction to something massive.

I’m totally with you. Doubles is my favorite playlist. I don’t know why it’s a rotation playlist. All I can guess it’s that’s 343i’s excuse of why it’s a rotational.

Ah yes.

The old “affects the health of other playlists” argument.

Remember when 343 set infinite up for failure by not releasing a dedicated slayer playlist on release for that reason? Plenty of community members remember and won’t forget. That type of bad decision making still plagues the game and won’t stop anytime soon. But hey, as long as quick play and fiesta have a healthy population, who cares?

I agree. All of the normal ranked playlists from previous halos need to be in infinite permanently. Arena, team doubles, ffa, team slayer, swat, snipers should be ranked permanently. I really like playing team doubles in the older halos with friends and i think infinite’s maps would play well in doubles.

I know 343 doesn’t want to release all of the playlists at once though because they want to release playlists at certain times with battle passes and cosmetic items to sell with the playlists. People are quiting infinite though. People aren’t going to come back for cosmetics for a game they don’t play. The basic playlists and features need to be in infinite permanently. 343 is so focused on profit and their competition’s customers that they are ruining halo.

they’re trying to appeal to new players or something like that. who cares what halo vets want or have to say, as long as the bare minimum is done.

Broader audience is garbage logic if the core fans who will sell your game for you are bored and content starved! 343i has bigger priorities like removing the tank gun for no reason other than to annoy people and nerfing everyones favorite weapon the Mangler because of pros who quit Infinite anyways. Utter incompetence! And I still love Halo Infinites gameplay so the madness countinues.

Ironically doubles would be kind of perfect for those of us not living in NA and playing at peak hours. Should be far easier to find games with half the players required.
