When h5 launched 343 said they “couldn’t wait to see what players do with the new movement mechanics and how it will evolve in unexpected ways.”
Then as soon aa it starts to evolve in cool, unexpected ways, they renove it from the game?
Why? Why was slide boosting removed? It makes no sense.
It was removed because people would use it to slide boost onto certain objects and launch themselves into the air, it was also used to break a breakout map.
Because it was a GLITCH. The physics engine is functioning incorrectly when the glitch is triggered; therefore it is not “creating new movemeng,” it’s exploiting an error to your benefit.

How is slide boosting a glitch? You sprint, thrust and then slide and jump and the momentum launches you forward. There is nothing illogical about that.
Fast falling is the only one that resembles a glitch.

100% Agreed, There is no glitching about this. Now if you slide boosted then become invincible for a short period of time, then sure Glitch it is. But if you wanna use that argument i guess crouch jumpings a glitch too. Rip.

Remember butterfly jumping in Halo 3? That was a glitch and Bungie never removed it. Because it took skill to do and only helped at getting around the map. Yes, some people would use it to get out of the barriers of the map. But Bungie would patch those areas.
The glitch allowed symmetrial maps to become asymmetrical, therefore unbalancing the match by giving one team a distinct advantage based entirely on RNG team colour luck. This is a totally valid reason to remove this bug.
The slide boost glitch is something you are misinterpreting.
This is the glitch that would be triggered when thrusting and sliding down an incline, causing the character to do something similar to the Halo: Reach armor ability, thus being a glitch since that’s not what it’s intention was.
(TL;DR - Just because it’s an incline, you shouldn’t be traveling at Godspeed because of it.)

But they also removed the normal slide boost did they not?

Then can we remove maps like Overgrowth, with blue teams distinct and undeniable advantage?

Nope, in fact they put secrets out there for people to find.
Because it ruined balance on some maps, like Plaza for example. Blue could get to sniper in seconds before Red even had shots on them.
I’m sad that its gone, as it a hella lot of fun to do, but I understand why it was removed.
Easier to patch this glitch then to rework spawns and weapon placement on entire maps.
