Like I said, this isn’t a hate topic, I’m actually legitimately interested as to why people still play Halo Reach. I bit the bullet for a long time myself and played the game to get better, only to be frustrated to the point of quitting. I guess after the long months of “BS”, I just stopped enjoying the game and put it down all together. The funny thing is, almost all of my friends do nothing but complain about Halo and yet they still play it for hours each day. So anyway, what is it about Halo that keeps you playing? Is it your dedication to the series, or do you see nothing wrong with Halo Reach? Love to hear some feedback!
This is just a little video explaining more why I quit the game and such, but I don’t hate on the game because Halo still has a special place in my heart <3
I really enjoy both games, but the sniper detection in Halo 3 really irked me. I’ve seen countless perfect headshots miss, as well as clear misses register as headshots regardless. I’ve seen sticky nades stick but not detonate, and I’ve seen MY OWN sticky that I threw (Which would’ve missed by about 3 feet), change direction IN MID AIR like a homing missile and stick my opponent regardless.
While Halo Reach has plenty of things which I can’t stand, at least the mechanics have been tightened up. Honestly I don’t plan on playing Reach again once Halo 4 comes out, as I enjoy team slayer, but I can’t stand any of Reach’s small maps.
Because it’s the Halo game I enjoy the most. I love Halo 3, and while I didn’t do alot of online MM, I had a bunch of LAN parties with it. But while we still crack out Halo 3 at our LAN parties now, we always end up playing WAY more Reach and it is a lot more fun for us. Reach does have its problems, but I still have a blast playing.
The Halo series as a whole has always been the best FPS ever for me. And I’ve played and beat countless others but there’s just something Halo has the the rest don’t have. It’s almost like they nailed it just right. So I still play Reach because I love Halo, and the multiplayer on Reach has the most people playing currently. As soon as Halo 4 comes out, I’ll be playing that hours a day for 2 or 3 years till 5, then 6.
I think the only reason I even bother playing Reach is because my Live stream followers and youtube subscribers demand more gameplay … so I give it to them. It’s kinda like a job for me to play Reach and meet a certain quota of new gameplays uploaded / streamed per week or they will get on me for “Y U NO HAVE MOAR REACH GAMEPLAY???” lol
If it were my choice I’d probably never play the game on my own will. But in all honesty in one 3 hour night of playing reach every other week I can get 15-20 good gameplays captured so it isn’t all too bad when it helps my view count lol
Of course I play Halo 3 a lot too but the difference is I love that game unlike Reach and so does my community so thats a win win there =)
I keep playing more out of dedication, it can be fun but had to accept Reach isn’t a proper Halo 4 so the main reason for me to keep playing is to reach Inheritor. After that I’m focusing only on custom games or playing halo 3 to get my 50 rank till Halo 4 comes out.
I keep playing because Halo has a great storyline, immersive detail, and goes beyond a standard first person shooter game with customization, weaponry, maps and everything beyond that. Halo is a solid series and I am simply playing the games as they are released, as any avid fan would. I enjoy playing online, and with friends. There are countless things to be unlocked, bought and tweaked, making the player value of this game exponentially higher than anything else out there. In the end, I play Halo because I payed for it, and I have fun with it for hours a day.
