Why do You quit?

WHat is the root cause to so many people quitting?

I have a feeling you have the small group of quitters because a match isn’t going their way right form the start, and in return you get people that quit because other people quit and they dont want to get killed?

Why else would there be so many people quitting matches? De-ranking? Internet Drops? Someone invited them to another game? I just can’t see that many of those cases affecting the games like it is.

I still think there are people that quit because they dont want a loss on their record when placing. And No a quit game does not count against a placement match. If you have 5 placement matches left and start a game then quit, you still have 5. I think that should count as a loss. I dont know if quitting counts negatively towards you during normal play. If it doesnt count in placement I dont think it would count in the regular games.

And the people who say players should be allowed to quit if they are not having fun, I dont buy that excuse. Thats breeding a generation of entitled gamers. What about the players that are only having fun if they are romping someone? Should they be allowed to quit if they are loosing and they are not having fun???

Why do i quit? Well in team slayer if its 2v4 im not butchering my kd.

I quit when it lags me out (NOT MY CHOICE)

Agreed that quitting should be an auto-loss as far as ranking goes.
The only time I ever quit a game is if an emergency pops up for my girlfriend says she’s home alone and wants a massage. Other than that if you back out cause your team is getting -Yoink- on I have no respect for you. There needs to be stiffer penalties on quitters because it takes away enjoyment in the game for people who stick it out and no quit.

The only times I ever quit is usually due to connection errors or emergencies outside of gaming, other than that I always stick with a match to the end.

Two main reasons I would guess most people quit 1.) don’t want to hurt their stats. This is a side effect of having only ranked gamestypes.
2.)the other is disconnects thru no fault of the player .

Gotta say though Its very gratifying when you are down a man and still beat the other team.

I don’t.

During Doubles Weekend, my partner quit a match at the beginning when we were 0-3. By the end of the match, after it was just me versus 2 other guys, I tied them 15-15. Then it went into overtime. Then tied again 19-19. It was fun as hell. We would have stomped them if he had stayed. The two guys I played against were nice, they never once tea bagged me as you often see in matches like that where it gets really stressful. But I always take my beatings when my teammates quit.

If I sense my team is fail, I decide not to waste time getting headshotted on spawn for 40mins.

The exact reason this experience is being ruined by people like you. You are so dang obsessed with kd that if yours starts going negative, you quit. Honestly so dang pathetic and I hope you get banned.
So are kids being beat up in school now if their kd goes negative? Seriously think about what you just typed.

On a side note I don’t quit. I also don’t care about my KD. I also drive the warthog because I don’t care about my kd. I also capture objectives because I don’t care about my kd. On top of that I have FUN because I am not obsessed with kd.

It’s funny that none of my teammates “get disconnected” when our team is winning by a large margin. They only mysteriously lag out when our team begins losing by 10+ points. Quitting should be counted as an automatic loss for that player.

Yes quitting should be an automatic loss and that player should not be able to play again until the game they just quit, is over. This is exactly how it works in Smite. You leave in Smite, you can not play anything in Smite until that previous game is finished. You are also marked as a quitter and if you quit multiple times, you get banned.

Wait… what

Are you saying quitting doesn’t count as a loss. I thought it did and would. People say having jip isn’t right in ranked but you can quit with out fear of it counting as a loss ?

I never quit. Just last night I was playing BTB and before the game was half way over 6 of my team mates quit. It was not pretty, and my KD I’m sure suffered for it (not that I care at all about it). I knew I was going to lose, I knew I would get slaughtered, but it was fun to try and strategize the 1 vs 4 scenarios that I encountered.

^this^ 90% of this community is SO obsessed with their k/d…they need some damn social playlists!

@ALL: You guys do know, that quitting counts as DNF and hurts your rank and stats as well?! I experienced it myself, after i was kicked out of several games due to server issues i was 2 tears down.

I think many of the people who are “quitting” are actually getting disconnected. A lot of people are having serious problems staying connected during matches.

yea in SOuth America, and I think Europe. I am talking about North America servers.

Like many have said in this, you never see people getting “disconnected” when they are winning.

It was never like that back in H2 and H3. I never heard people EVER talk about KD back then. Not even much in Reach at all either.

I’ve had one too many bad games in a row and I need to call it a day.

A bunch of people already quit on my team early game and I’m not going to sit around for ten minutes hiding or getting stomped.

I haven’t played halo 5, but I can tell you why I’ve quit in the past…

When a match was horribly unbalanced due to lack of matchmaking. I will not play a game that isn’t fun, and getting slaughtered is rarely fun (though sometimes it is). Halo 2 didn’t have this problem the way Reach and H4 did. The matches were generally well made then.

I would quit when the game type voted the “wrong way”… Usually when it was the same game type over and over again, variety is more fun than monotony- or with reach anytime the original game types came up. One the TU happened I couldn’t go back to 100% bloom outside of invasion.

I would quit when I was left alone by other players- A 1v4 isn’t a lot of fun.

Essentially it comes down to having fun. I rarely ever quit when playing Halo 2, or when I went into Reach as a party. It was just more fun. Solo players are more likely to quit in general.
