Why do you lose?

I’m very interested in the mind set of an average Halo player. What percentage of your games would you say you lose because the other team is just straight up better?

And the rest of the time, what is your excuse?

Clueless teammates who have no situational awareness.

Randomness of bloom.

Ridiculous OP of Sword/Rockets/Shotgun

Well I do know that sometimes I get outplayed, but really not often. This is an example of a recent game I played:

http://halo.xbox.com/en-US/Career/HaloReach/GameHistory#/?game=1052648255&section=Unknown

I went 16-6, but my teamates still managed to go negative enough for us to get steaked. I really can’t help it.

Usually because my team doesnt think on their feet, I do admit I get outplayed, but around half of my games (actually 50.12%, I place first out of everyone.

About 10% of the time I just straight up get out played. Out strafed, out DMR’d, out everything’d. I like to think 10% isn’t too high for this.

The other times, it’s because of things I can not control at all. Bad host, having no friends on and getting matched against a full party of armor lockers using ATLAS, team mates going -20. That sort of thing. I do not put stuff like bloom in this category, because in my opinion it is controllable, and…in a normal TS game the DMR will usually take a back seat to another weapon like the shot gun.

Usually its because a terrible team, and bad cohesion of the team. I like to play btb and invasion so if the team doesnt work together right it all plays horribly. Recent invasion slayer i played i went around 30:3 thanks to elites being rediculously easy to snipe, and we STILL only won by around 1 or 2 kills. throw me a bone guys, i cant be the ONLY person to go positive!! Ive had plenty of matches where i had the most kills out of everyone and my team still found a way to lose

Depends on the playlist

Super slayer 96% ISH
Team OBJ 98% ISH
BTB 99% ISH

I lose about 1 maybe 2 games in what ever playlist unless its BTB then its still 99%

Thats a idea but i play with a full party 99% of the time
RANDOMS would lower that number a bit

FF 100% just for lolzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

i lose because people dont know how to look around find a guy and shoot him.
My team doesnt understand what defend means.
my teammates wait till i die then shoot the guy i got 1 shot.
people hit the game connection to respawn weapons/vehicles.

the other team just has much better teamwork.

Either I get paired up with idiots or the enemy team is better than me.

I normally search solo so a combination of better players on the other team than mine and connection quality always plays a part.

I used to really care about gamerscore and winning before my GT got hacked back in the Halo 3 days and now I couldn’t care less now about winning because people with bad hosts run this game.

Lately I have been have a really bad time with griefers and betrayers so I won’t be playing Reach again for a while.

The other day on a really bad host a teammate was killing me after battles with enemies and because of the terrible host I didn’t pick up on it until he’d betrayed me two times and resulted in my dying another three times after I’d engaged and finished off an enemy giving them a kill on me instead of a betrayal to him.

The next game I get matched with him again and he betrays me twice so I betrayed him back and he starts following me around, meleeing me in the back and then walks in front me of when I have the sniper resulting in me betraying him and he boots me.

I was probably drinking something or talking on the phone.
Poor teammates or thier dissappearance during the game (this is also affected by the opposing team your facing)

Anyone that says bloom, doesn’t know what they’re talking about, they tweaked it so many times with the TUs that bloom shouldn’t be a problem for your loss.

Better than me? about one in three. Today I had a game of SWAT where I out-thought the other team and had them dead to rights every time they came around a corner. Couldn’t get the head-shot for nothing. I’d get a 2 or 3 shot head start, and still lose. Bad flow on that game.

Other than that? Quitters/AFK, mostly.

I lose because I don’t have friends to play halo with. I am also not into clans or guilds and can’t play at night so am forced to work with what I have. My last game was on Sunday in btb spire territories. My team let the other team get 4/5 and I considered quitting then remembered that next turn I could do my best to take out the objectives. We won that game with minutes to spare.

I lose because I refuse to use overpowered weapons that gives me kills rather then working for it.

When I try and play like Kobe Bryant, I tend to lose a lot more often. When I play like say Rajon Rondo or Steve Nash, I tend to win a lot more. Meaning I’ve actually been trying to get double-doubles with assists & kills. 10 Kills & 10 assists look a lot better than 20 kills and 0 assists imo.

37% of the time I lose because the other team is better then me and my team.

> 37% of the time I lose because the other team is better then me and my team.

and if you asked the community they’ll say you lose 63% of the time because you use AL

i dont have no excuse because i find the game fun and another thing it doesnt matter if you win all it matters is your k/d in the end so remember that

LOL, dont forget camping and power weapon hogging too!

Sounds like every one that wrote “I lose because of bad teammates” should just team up and run MM.
