Why Do You Like Abandon?

What do you like about this map?

I hate it. Abandon and Complex are the worst maps IMO

At launch it was my favorite. But now… I’m just going to say it, weapon tuning really soured it for me.

It’s great that the BR and Carbine are an option now but I found Abandon really fun when it was a solid automatics fest. That’s just me though.

That along with how much better Skyline is compared to it is why I don’t like it as much as I did.

These days I prefer Adrift over any other 4v4 map that comes up often.

I hate both Abandon and Adrift. Both horrible maps for 4v4 slayer.

I don’t, since I find it one of the worst Halo 4 maps, due to it being so unbalanced.

Solace master race.

I don’t now a map that is balanced in halo 4… If you took sniper, you are untouchable…

It is easily among my least favorite maps in any Halo game.

The majestic map pack maps are pretty good. Pitfall and Vertigo work pretty well too. The best on-disc map is probably Haven though. Halo 4 honestly has pretty bad maps compared to Halo Reach and people say it has the worst maps.

I don’t understand why people keep voting for this map, it’s just horrendous in every game mode I’ve played it on so far, Team Slayer, SWAT, Rumble Pit and Regicide.

I have the sudden need to want to repeatedly stab my eye with a rusty spoon every time that map gets picked

Haven is probably the best IMO, since it is mostly symmetrical, along with Solace and Adrift, I make it a point not to stay anywhere near the center of the map though, maybe you guys that don’t like these maps should do the same.

i like the map a lot, if there was no boltshot in the sandbox it would be better

I guess I’m in the minority. Abandon is my favorite Halo 4 map :stuck_out_tongue:

It has an obvious power position that the gameplay flows towards: ring 3. Ring 3 is just as easy to defend as it is to attack. Every power position has multiple entrances, which balances their line-of-sights. If you have a well-coordinated team, you can own the map pretty quickly and easily.

I concur. Both are very cringe-worthy when they get selected.

It’s one of the few stock (Not forged) maps on the game that come close to an arena sized map. I enjoyed maps like Warlock, Beaver Creek, Guardian and Lock Out. This just happens to be one of the few maps in the game that is some what similar.

What I liked about the classic arena styled maps (like you listed) was that they were small and balanced. Abandon is actually rather big and very unbalanced. About time it was removed from CTF :3

It’s not haven, which is all I can ask for anymore.

The only time I enjoy abandon is on legendary BRs, otherwise its a terrible map

Maybe because it’s the best 4v4 asymmetrical map in the game?

I used to hate abandon. but for team doubles and 1 v 1s I find it competitive

Maybe we’re all just accustomed to different maps, I can’t do that well on Abandon as I can on Adrift and Haven, I usually end up dying a lot more times than on any other map, the symmetry of maps like Adrift and Haven make things simpler, and there is no unfair advantage with height, ie one team spawning at a higher elevation or closer to power weapons than the other team.

I think I could agree on that.

for multi team or slayer its fast paced - I like that. But for any objective maps the asymmetry kind of breaks it, makes for some terrible matches of CTF
