Why do you have to "earn" the most basic weapons

I know H5 has been out for sometime but when i play i always have to ask myself why on earth you have to “earn certification” for the most basic weapons like a dmr, plasma pistol, smg, etc. Especially plasma pistols i have yet to earn a certification for a plasma pistol - which seems like the most needed weapon in the game since any team who gets the majority of the better players can quickly get higher reqs and spam scorpians rocket hogs banshees or wraiths. And on top of that why would you give more reqs to the better team, wouldnt you give reqs to the losing team to try and eevn the game and make it competitive rather than shooting practice? Can anyone give a rational explaination for this?

If you don’t have plasma pistols… You might be very very low level…

What kind of packs do you buy?

It is a simulator lol. Also warzone is a casual gametype. Just keep on playing and you will unlock stuff.

I DONT BUY pack even if someone is a low level wouldnt that be more of a reason to give them a plasma pistol to help give them a fighting chance?

Well you don’t really “earn” them at all. You get the certifications in req packs by grinding out points or buying them. Then you have to some what earn the level required to use certain reqs. The req system requires players to play well to get to use their better reqs. You have to be tactfully smart and know what reqs to use and when. But yeah the req system can cause runaway games sometimes when teams aren’t working together. Which is why I love warzone turbo so much. Every one is at max req level at all times. It is actually more balanced that way imo

You don’t get req packs? You can get them with points for free you know? If you don’t get or use or understand the req system you may want to stick to the arena in big team battle where reqs aren’t used at all.

Yes but the whole point of playing multiplayer is because you want competition not a shooting practice, otherwise youd just play campaign over and over

If you want competitive play you have to play arena and not warzone

I get req pack system for things like power weapons and vehicles but basic weapons? NO. Theres no justigication for it other than to give the above average players even more of an advantage than they have already. And why on earth would i stick to arena where the semi-pro players go to compete with one another. Theres a reason esport in halo is based in Arena. Thats the exact opposite of a solution.

OP needs to start buying bronze packs until they get all common req unlocks. Then move up to silver packs.

Well by your responses it doesn’t seem like you have a full understanding of the req system. Also just because you play arena doesn’t mean you will play against “pro” players. I am willing to bet the majority of “pro” players don’t even play big team battle. They stick to the 4v4 stuff really. But warzone wasn’t built for competitive play. It’s a casual play mode. More competitive play is in the arena. It’s not that hard to get the lower level reqs. Keep grinding out points, use your boost and jackpots often and stick with getting bronze and silver level packs until you get everything then move on to the gold packs.

I guess my point is i would like competitive casual games not a slaughter style gameplay (which i notice is more frequent, since most games are won by teams who get beaten by double their score, which only supports my point more) or play with the semi-pros. It seems like ever since 343 came into play, Halo has catered to esports style players and left casual players out in the cold which i would think is the reason why the halo community has sort of deteriorated.

That makes no sense, you dont earn them but you grind away for point to maybe/maybe not unlock them? Thats sound like earning them to me. And you mean be tactfulky smart like sniping with a DMR or BR from the east/west armory into the spire - ya thats real tactical. :expressionless::expressionless:

And i get getting to a certain level in game to use certain weapons like power weapons or vehicles but how on earth are you supposed to beat that if you dont have even the most basic counter measuresto power weapons and vehciles like a DMR or a plasma pistol to immobilize vehicles. And by the way if it hasnt become obvious by now, most people dont play together on Halo anymore its usually solo players so its kinda pointless to set up every game for individual teams.

I do understand the req system but in the range of extremely competitive to casual gameplay its usually making the games extemely competitive and one sided. The req system seems like its ruined casual play because you cant fight back with no reqs as the other team has all of them. And im not speaking of a competitive game like esports just decently competitive to stand a chance and not get demolished in a casual game or essentially spawn camp the other team depending on which team your on. I get that warzone was for casual play but req system has turned it on its head, it might be okay if you ever had a way of fighting back or a way of fighting some resistance but like i said usually its a spawn camp since the winning team usually wins by double.

See i agree with that, thats a good strategy but its a bit ridiculous that you have to do that to even stand a chanve In warzone, dont you think? Why didnt 343 just beat players to the punch and give them the basics instead of literally like you pointed out - making them earn them through req points. The basics should be mandatory and power weapons and vehicles should be req packs since they are “special” equipment. I just cant seem to get my head around making it a hassle to get the basics.

Like I said dude you may want to stick to big team battle. All weapons are on the map and it is geared more toward competitive play.

When I first got H5 on launch all I did was play FFA, btb, and the rotational social playlist and built up a req point bank of like 300K and then bought a bunch of the bronze and silver packs at once so when I finally did warzone I had a decent req inventory and a good handling on the new mechanics and aiming dialed in.
