So playing Arena, which is pretty much ‘sit on the edge of your seat, giving it your all’ and ending up with between 750 and 800ish req points… Arena games, which are featured in Halo Championships what is pretty much the top of the bill when it comes to Halo game modes.
Yet playing Warzone with your feet up in the air, having a beer, grabbing a tank and just shooting Aliens will give you a sh*tload of req points. Why? I understand Mythic Warzone is probably pretty hard, but Legendary Warzone gives just so much more req points than Arena. Yes, I know games are maybe a bit longer, but in between the rounds you have time to do laundry or make dinner or relax a bit.
I played a Warzone game with one person not doing anything. Not getting a single kill. Once in a while he/she moved the stick so he/she wouldn’t get kicked. In the second round a new person joins in and actually participates. Yet the person playing the game but not being in the game from the first minute ends up getting LESS points than the person not doing a single thing but being in the game from the start. So hanging around is even rewarding in Warzone…
Or am I missing something? Is 343I slowly taking out Arena and will we have Warzone Championships in 2018?
Because playing Halo 5, it pretty much feels like 343 wants me to play Warzone all the time. 13 something Arena games for one Gold pack which will probably give you stuff only for Warzone…
343I, care for a reply?
Or is it maybe time to up the amount of permanent req cards from silver/gold packs if you want Arena req points to be so low?
You’re not meant to earn a lot of REQ points from Arena, as the matches usually go by quickly.
I think Infection still might have double XP going on. More RP/XP boosts is also an incentive to play 343’s cash cow.
I’ve been noticing a decreasing in reqs OVERALL this past month.

No, of course I’m talking about req per minute and not req per game!
Because otherwise buying REQ packs wouldn’t be the slightest bit attractive to some people. It’s a measured and calculated rate.
Considering that Warzone is their new baby and the lifeblood of Halo 5’s microtransaction system, I’m not surprised that Warzone is more lucrative. I could have very well been a design choice to incentivize Warzone more, which in turn would get more players using REQs which means more players buying REQ packs.
It would be nice if Arena was as efficient for accumulating REQ points as Warzone. Take solace in that the REQ system is not at all necessary for enjoying Arena. Sure it may take longer for you to get that armor you want, but that doesn’t provide any advantages to Arena. Hopefully in Halo 6 we’ll see changes to the REQ system that separate of earning customization items from the REQs. Or at least maybe give us more stuff earned through achievements/commendations.
I just think it’s like said above Warzone is 343’s new mode they want to promote, as well arena maps don’t last as long. Biggest thing though I think is if more people play warzone, more people want reqs, and the more reqs they want, they more packs they have to buy. Patient people will earn it in game but most will use the almighty green substance that Microsoft thrives on $$$.
Game req + performance bonus + time bonus
Arena is based on kills or individual performance.
Warzone is cooperative and dishes equal bonus as long as you contribute.
<5 bad rp , 5<10 good 10<15 better.
But over 15 munites doesn’t give much, maybe there’s a cap?
Warzone gives more than wz assault.
Warzone can take 20m+ , but assault is <15m maximum.
I’ve noticed the same deal, and just chalked it up to the Arena matches being shorter.
But they’re not THAT much shorter, especially BTB. You spend pretty much the same amount of time in the lobby in either Arena or Warzone.
