I welcome change, just as most gamers do… even if you get the fanboys on the forums crying about new stuff

If it’s too difficult for you to guess who I was talking too I apologize.
Plyers per day =/= community. No one I know plays Reach as much as they played Halo 3, and I have never met someone on Reach who I would then play with again later.

No it doesen’t, count the zeros carefully.

Players per day =/=Quality.
Bassed on your logic, CoD is better than Halo, wich contradicts your fear for change.
i fear change because if bungie doesn’t like it and complete step 7, they maybe will ban us from playing H4 XD

Please explain how you would do this?
People just don’t want Halo to change because
- They don’t want to move out of their comfort zone.
- Afraid that adding new things just makes Halo less unique.
- Just be defensive of the Halo they grew up with.
Just some reasons I think people are afraid of change.
Why do we fear change you ask!!!
Halo reach is my answer…
Halo 1,2,3 great games then comes the CHANGE to reach and it almost destroyed the franchise!
NOUGH SAID

Making them pick ups and nothing that directly influes the gameplay (like a certain weapon or power ups)
Because my dear watson, I believe that none of us here want to be like god -Yoink!- CoD.

And can you please argument how Reach almost destroyed the Franchise?

No I don’t, I know my wording wasn’t good there but player base doesn’t equal players per day. A player base is also your community, people who continue to play it AS other games come out.
I didn’t say the number of players in itself is important, it’s the number of players that continue playing and creating within the game after release. Long after release. The only way you are going to get that is through a unique and high quality game, making a game similar to others on the market means that players are more likely to transfer to the next similar game rather than sick around.

With or With no perks, the core gameplay itself makes the game different

I would blame Reach leveling system, in which you feel no satisfaction and no progress, and with no progress sensation there is no way a fan base can still playing the same game.

Again, progression only lasts so long. I didn’t reach prestige before MW2 came out, did I care? no, I just bought the next game. Halo 3’s progression was not based of credits, and I would much prefer it to go mach to an achievement based system honestly, that also improved the community.
Change is feared because of past mistakes. Reach was the biggest departure for the series, and look how it turned out; A fractured fanbase, lack of competitive edge, and steadily decreasing popularity.
People don’t want that again.

Okay. Then they wouldn’t be called perks, and should only be compared to H3 equipment. I think what most people “fear” is diversity with spawning.
I don’t fear change in the slightest.
I’d be more worried if Bungie didn’t alter Halo: Reach from Halo 3.
And even more worried if 343i made a replica of Halo 3 etc etc.
Everything has to evolve. Grow with it. Not against it.

That´s only one option, another thing could be that you spawn with “tools” for your movement, and then you need to pick up the power ups (sort of mix whit AA´s and Equipment)
The main problem with adding a system similar to Perks is that Halo has always been about equal chance. Halo is one of the few games today that revolves around everyone having an equal opportunity to win.
Since Halo CE every player has spawned with the same weapons, traits, etc. This is what allows every player to have a fair chance at winning the game. In Reach players were given several different types of equipment known as Armor Abilities, which they spawned with and could not swap for another. While everyone had the opportunity to use the same AA as their enemy, this resulted in players who had chosen an AA for a specific role to be at a loss when the situation changed to something their current AA wasn’t suited for.
Other games that let you customize your weapons and loadouts don’t give you that same kind of fairness. If one player is the highest rank they can create the most powerful weapon combo in the game, while a new low-ranked player is left with the worst weapons available. Clearly the new player isn’t going to be able to hold his own against the veteran player who has superior weaponry.
