Personally, I never had a problem with it in Reach. I hardly used it, but when I did, it’d get me from A to B. Helpful.
That and the fact that you are so slow and exposed when you use it…
I’m sorry, but since when did every single on of you lose your ability to look up? Honestly, it’s not hard. It’s the opposite of looking at your feet. Try it.
I don’t care about Jetpack in this game, and neither should you. Jetpackers are SUCH easy targets!
it can easily break map control - or allow players to get out of maps. essentially it adds another aspect to the game that can easily and decisively make the game unbalanced.
as a map pickup i see no problem with this. as a spawning option i have an issue with players arbitrarily being able to choose different powerups.
It depends on whether or not 343 realizes when they give us the ability to jetpack, we can go higher than usual. That means it’s possible for us to take advantage of certain things.
My problem is that when I kill jetpackers on reflection over and over again I don’t get time in between them grenade spamming my position where I’m unable to strafe or otherwise move out of the way and them then respawning for my shields to recharge.
It also pretty much makes the idea of controlling choke points, weapon spawns, lift areas, what have you completely pointless because you’re just going to have the other team or players jetpack up to your position and 'nade spam you. In short what it does is make map design pretty much pointless.
For example, on the Halo 3 map Construct it’s important to control the top level lifts so you get that advantage of knowing the places your enemy will come from, the ramps, the lifts, the smaller struts that lead to sword spawn. Add in jetpack, it doesn’t matter, you can come up from any area on the map and it makes controlling those areas a waste of time as they’re not going to be used. Why use a lift or a ramp that can be predicted when you can just fly up in a random position and surprise the enemy?
i really dont have a problem with the jetpack, it served its purpose and it was not overpowered, in fact whenever i used it on bigger maps it just made me an easy target,i think they should have made it abit more agile and less clunky to use.
It breaks map control. It encourages rushing, not working as a team (more than otherwise), grenade spamming and camping in soft kill zones (or worse, those that have been missed)

What you mean is it through a stick in strategies that you meticulously thought out, it was a game changer that inabled teams that were getting destroyed a chance to break that cycle and have a chance at victory, then yes it ruined map ‘‘controle’’.
The only people that are complaining are MLG tryhards that have forgotten what its like to actually have FUN playing a GAME…its a really sad world we live in when things that were actually designed to be fun are being turned into these -Yoink!- rule regulated stress enhancers.
If you ever face a coordinated team of jetpackers, your opinion would change. You never get a chance to breathe as even if you kill them, they are jetpacking up into the air off spawn picking you off before your shields recharge.
I have even faced lousy jetpacking teams. My team couldn’t move out of our base because of them jetpacking, but we still beat them 50-18. If they were any good, we would have been -Yoinked!-.
Instead of having a discussion about removing one of the most enjoyable AAs in reach how about we discuss a weapon or AA that is a counter to the jetpack? lets just balance it out people, we dont have to eliminate it entirely.

… I don’t get it, they were unadaptive to their created situation, you capitalised on their inability to evolve, you got the win by a land slide for their efforts, you didn’t have to move around the map to get the win, and for that… Like I said, I don’t get it.

the problem with jet-pack was all the exploits it opened up on maps, higher perches, softkills, hide outside and the like, as long as halo 4 maps have these problems ironed out then i see no problem with it.

You sir are a walkin oxymoron, Stating that my OPINION of fun is better than yours? im just saying that the majority of the time i play with people who claim that they are MLG are usually stressed out,overly competitive -Yoink- who ruin the game for everybody with their constant bashing of people that dont have the income or time to spend hours becoming a god in a virtual world that really doesnt matter…
