Micro transactions are a reality of modern video games. Look at LOL, Dota 2, Hearthstone and any game on your phone. No one is making you buy them, and you earn about a gold pack every hour of play in arena, so you’re not missing out on them if you did need them to do well…
I’m curious about what the reason for being so down on them is? With out spending a dime I’ve earned tons of armors, a few BRs and SMGs, about 5 different ARs, more vehicles than I’ll ever use and sweet weapon skins, etc.
At no point have a felt like paying money would have improved my Halo 5 experience.
So that brings me to the point of this thread, why does everyone go ape -Yoink- on here about REQs? No one is making you buy them, and there’s really no point to them other than they’re just fun to open.
People are collectors and go crazy to “catch em’ all”. They added hundreds of REQs to collect and you only really get 2 per pack. It just speeds up the process and gives them hope to finish their collection sooner or get that one REQ they really want.
In order to be competitive in Warzone, you need to have a fair amount of certifications and loadouts. Good luck using your Magnum when everybody else has DMRs. I wouldn’t mind grinding for REQ points in order to unlock them, but there is so much bulls#!7 that we need to unlock: hundreds of emblems, weapon skins, ugly as hell armor and helmets… sometimes it’s so frustrating to unlock what you want and paying accelerates the process.

Idk if I started with the BR or if I opened it, but by the first time I jumped into warzone at level 7-10 I had it, and that was more than enough to hold my on. The only REQs I even bother keeping are snipers, beam rifles and rockets.
If you need more money to support the game just pay $70 and give us all the same unlocking speed instead of a $60 payment and an armor unlock system that is considerably faster with money.

It’s not about making money to “support the game”, its just a really solid business model. 20% of players will give them 3 or bucks a weeks in exchange for faster unlocks. There’s really no reason not to do it. It’s just how business is done in this industry in 2016.
You’re free to ignore cosmetics, but that doesn’t mean cosmetics aren’t locked behind a pay or grind system.
Alright, say I want the armor Fred wears in the Campaign. It’s a Legendary Req. Sure I could buy some gold packs, but if I don’t already have all my silver packs cleared I have an extremely small chance of actually getting that specific armor. Even if I get a legendary item from the pack it could be any of the legendary items, and I’m far more likely to get a random uncommon item instead. Now, how long does it take to clear silvers? Well I have like two days of gameplay and I’m still not even half way there.
So I have to play the game for like a year straight just to get the set of armor I want.
“But it’s what all the cool games are doing”. Who cares? That doesn’t make it acceptable.

Well put. How would people respond if the entire system existed as it does, but without ability to pay money for packs.
I don’t care about REQ bundles. I care about cancer being introduced into my favorite franchise. Battlefield doesn;t have microtransactions and its owned by EA. Don’t care about other multiplayer games.
When was the last time they introduced a REQ bundle that could be obtained in-game? Players who pay can unlock stuff faster and obtain more weapons than people who don’t play. Today its “optional”. Tomorrow its something worse.

Wuut? you’re trolling, right?
A) How is it cancer? you can’t just say the reason something is bad is because its bad. That’s just circular logic.
B) Battlefield has had micro transactions for at least 2 years? Those little suitcase things you earned in Battlefield 4 that gave you weapon attachments and XP boosts? Yea, you could buy those, too.
You edited your post so I didn’t quote all of it, but its not in their best interest to make a game where you have to pay to play. People would opt for a game that didn’t require money to play. That’s just how markets work.
