Why do we need recoil??

It’s controllable, unlike bloom, which they said won’t be in the game (for now anyway lol).
Because the BR needs some form of limitation. Recoil is the most consistent and the easiest to understand.

but why do we limitat the br?? cant we just “buff” the offer weapons??
To balance it against the sniper I suppose.
Was recoil in halo 2 if it was it seem to work ok it that game.
^ No there was no “recoil” in Halo 2, but there was bullet spread on the BR.
Recoil sounds like a cool idea.
> Was recoil in halo 2 if it was it seem to work ok it that game.
Halo 2 was 100% consistant on non full auto guns making it the most competitive game in the series.
On topic: Recoil is needed so you just can’t 4-shot people across the maps.
Why not? It’s perfectly possible to bring your reticle back down and target your opponent again in the time between bursts, there’s no randomness or slowing-down of gameplay. It adds to the immersion (makes the gun feel powerful and weighted), and it’s another skill to master, abet a small one.

No, the BR doesn’t need limitation.
The BR performed well at it’s distances that it was meant for, that is to say, almost everything except for long distance. That’s what it was supposed to do.

When was the last time you 4 shot someone on Sandbox? Or Valhalla? Let me guess, the spartan IV’s are -Yoink- and can’t handle a bit of recoil.

Ever heard of the only thing worse than bloom?
Spread

Its TOOO effective and renders the rest fo the sandbox useless. One of the things i like about reach actually, most of the weapons i can pick up and kill people with. (not to say i dont want the BR i love that gun)

Jetpacks? Armour Lock? Sprint?

Well, those are avoidable (mlg/classic), spread in H3 is not.

What are you even talking about? The Br has always had a form of limitation, spread.
I am not sure we need it. I know I don’t need anything that makes it harder to shoot straight believe you me but I guess we’re getting it. I hope it isn’t as much as some of the other fps out there a bit of recoil wouldn’t be too bad. However, I hate shooting at the sky after .1 seconds.

Not in H2. The rate of fire wasn’t even a limitation for the skilled players : P
Just think of the SMG recoil and applyit to the BR.

Fine, whatever. I seriously don’t get some people on these forums, they add the BR, it’s improved from Halo 3, and you’re still complaining that it’s not as good as it was in Halo 2? Here’s the thing: You. Can’t. Have. Everything. I don’t get why people are so worked up about this, if you’re skilled enough, you could “spam” at the fastest RoF and still be able to correct your shot after the recoil at long range.
