I don’t get it. When you finish a game you have to wait 30 seconds.
It’s faster to back out then click on the playlist you’re playing again.
I also notice that if I wait for the intermission to run through then it searches again, I don’t find a match after a few minutes it just times out. Which forces me to back out and in again and each time I’ll find a match within 10 seconds.
What is this stupid system? This also forces me to have to search for a whole new bunch of players. What if I preferred the bunch I was playing with since the lag was minimal?
why do we have a 30 second break? toilet, grabbing drinks/snacks, stretch your legs etc. if you like your playing group, you can always make your own fireteam.
It’s so the hamster wheel powered servers can get a break before the high quality lag matches resume.

If I wanted a break I would just back out and sit on the dashboard or whatever. Also who goes to the bathroom while paying halo? Just get a few empty water bottles and save time.

It’s so you actually have time to back out and go to the dashboard/look at you medals/without being immediately placed into a match they didn’t want to join.
Yea it’s pointless. If i want to take a break i back out. If i want to keep playing i back out.
I don’t ever wait for that timer to finish.
PS: Halo needs it to evolve bruhhhh /s

Understandable… but 30 seconds? What was wrong with Reach’s 15 seconds? Perfect amount of time imo. 30 seconds is too long and forces people to back out and in again making the whole party disband.
And yes I understand creating a fireteam blah blah but it’s too much effort and coordinating for a casual gamer.

Yeah, I’ve still been roped into a match or two I didn’t want to play. I’ve taken to backing out just to look at the carnage report. I’d rather see an extension of the timer, than a reduction of it.

Another point I made in the OP was if I don’t back out and let the 30 seconds ride, I don’t find a match after a few minutes then it times out.
Whereas if I back out and in again I find a match almost instantaneously. This happens all the time every time so it’s not just a game or two that I’m basing that observation from.

I don’t know, I’ve never had those issues. The only times I’ve had issues searching was in certain playlists in the early morning, even then switching to expanded cured that.
- Potty/drink breaks
- Gives time to look at medals and stats
- Gives time to buy and sell reqs
- Gives time on what boosts to use
- Gives time to even send messages to other players saying “gg” and what not
- The main one would probably be the game taking its time to find your next match, cuz people do leave games and the game then attempts to find other players around your skill level.
Its much more beneficial to have a game intermission than immediately starting another one right up if you ask me.

Even on expand lol. I tried doing balanced search settings my first day and found one match within an hour lmao. Have been expanded since then otherwise no fun will be had

1-4. Personally I believe people should be made to back out if they want to do all those things at length… dunno about you but to go potty properly takes me 2 mins between walking there, doing my bizz and then walking back. Make the intermission 5 mins then lol.
- I doubt it’s searching for your next match during the 30 second intermission, seeing as it takes you to a whole new search empty blank screen right after with no new players found from the get go. During the beginning of the intermission and during the beginning of the search, you can bet that comparable amounts of people at your skill level are available for a game…

Well for me my kitchen is right behind my gaming setup so it take me 30 seconds just to get a glass of water or a snack before I even land in the game. As for bathroom breaks the bathroom isn’t very far either but I only stay in the lobby if I go #1. It’ll be different person to person from house size and what not.
As as for the lobbies changing/searching for other players, for the most part I actually do replay vs people in previous games, I’m no onyx or champ to where I’d be lucky if I got one game in 20 minutes but even at diamond ranks (and truth be told I personally feel I’m an onyx player but the tank system blows) I can have extended search times depending on the day and when I play. I also only play in a fire team cuz I dispise playing with randoms. So maybe the game also “tries” to match make team vs team?

All of this not to mention cracking REQ packs, or having time to back out of a playlist before they throw you into a game where you can no longer exit.
Yeah it’s needed because there are some extreme gamers that stayed glued to the TV. If they have 30 sec intermissions those gamers can once in awhile go fetch a snack for themselves or just take a smallbreak relaxing their arms or what not. Besides if you dont want the intermission just leave the gametype and join back again. Thats’ what i do sometimes.
So you have time to pee and get another beverage
But on the serious side… It’s because people complained about going right into the next search because it was leading to a lot of players going idle. In MCC people complained about not going into the next search… so the intermission is kinda the best of both. You don’t go right into them search but also don’t have to restart one either. Gives you a bit of time.

That’s exactly it.
