So, me and my friend were playing Halo CE The Library in MCC on Legendary, and for the second time we started getting 0 score just when we
were reaching the par score. This has happened a couple of times now and every time we should have beaten the score easily.
Am I missing something or is this just another bug in the game?
ps: I love Halo and we have been playing since 2002, but this bug is just so demotivating when you’re trying to beat a challenge and the game doesn’t tell you why you’re getting 0 score. If it has a reason it should probably notify the player. We were already very disappointed with MCC because we have always played system link Halo with friends and it’s a lot more fun than playing online. I don’t get why you would not include that, 343, you know it’s the best thing about Halo.

Did you have bandanna or one of the other 0 modifier skulls on?
@comedyshermit
No, we only used the birthday skull and 2 other skulls, the one where auto aim is disabled and the one where enemies are stronger.
This also happened on other occasions where other skulls were on, the scoring counts until it almost reaches the par score and then it only subtracts and doesn’t add anything but 0 everytime we kill an enemy. You can clearly see in the video, this was a while after it started adding 0 only. We actually already pretty much had the par score but when it stops adding of course it won’t go up anymore.

With all due respect, but I don’t understand anything being said about this issue, in that thread. There seem to be some vague rules, but the reality I believe, is that 343 just refuses to fix anything.
If you take too long in a mission, you stop gaining points.
Once you take longer than the par time for a given level, your score starts to drop. After a bit longer, your score stops dropping, and you lose the ability to gain more points. It works this way in all of the games in MCC and it is actually an intended function. I don’t know why it functions this way, but it was intentional.
Secondary skulls (like grunt birthday and Bandana) disable the score and par time and if you used them then that probably is the reason for you getting a 0 score.

That’s not entirely correct. The bandanna skull disables scoring by applying a 0x multiplier to your score, and it disables par time achievements. Only the 0x multiplier skulls do this. Grunt Birthday is not a 0x multiplier skull.

I cant actually watch the video since you took it down but from what it sounds like, i think this is the set up you used.
Time: Competetive,
Difficulty: Legendary
Skulls: Grunt BP and 2 other none 0x skulls
So your question has to main answers. for the score starting to give you 0, you went way over par time. at some point you will no longer gain any more points so hence 0
As for it going down, that tells me you are playing on competitive scoring. so what that does it show your REAL end score at that moment. so it takes into acount the time bonus. so if you finish with it on normal scoring, it just shows your BASE score. which is difficulty plus skulls plus spress/multikills. THEN when you finish it ADDS the time multiplier. on competitive scoring it just shows you your score WITH the time bonus. so when its going down, that you losing the overall Time bonus and is displaying your score at that moment with it added. you lose time bonus as you go over the par score so it is just displaying your real score with the lowered time multiplier. its just a matter of do you want to see the time bonus after the level or during.
