I don’t understand why with each new halo they feel the need to completely change the multi player, even if it doesn’t need it and yet the campaigns always stay the same.
Why do they never take chances with the campaign? The risk reward to it is a lot better than messing with MP.
Why not add puzzles? Why not add choices? Why not add RPG elements? Why not add, idk…anything?
Halo campaigns have remained a enter room, kill everything, go to next room game since HCE. Why?
Actually, I’m pretty sure it’s been said somewhere that only a small percentage of Halo players ever really play multiplayer, at least, matchmaking anyway. Getting campaign wrong is worse than getting multiplayer wrong.
And they’ve added stuff like the Space sections and the fly-around-in-an-aircraft sections like in New Alexandria/Shutdown. Along with stuff like AAs to spice up gameplay a bit.
I just hope they expand on the Space and fly-around levels in the next game.

Sounds like -Yoink- to me. Back up your statements with proof or don’t post at all.

You sound very uneducated saying something like that. Either way, you’re describing casual fans not Halo fans.

Well yes, because a large % of 360 owners don’t have XBL gold. Still campaign lasts a week at max. MP can go on for years. If people don’t like your campaign it doesn’t really matter. You already have their money. You still have to sell your MP DLC though.
Ok, yes they added new areas for you to find enemies, kill them and then go to the next area and find enemies and kill them. You’re still doing the same thing. You’re still just shooting things.

That’s why I said “I’ve heard”; and I have. Nothing definitive, but it might be true (and there’s actually a good chance of it being so).
Anyway, there’s also the fact that critics don’t usually rate multiplayer: they rate campaign. If campaign sucks, the game gets bad scores. If the game gets bad scores, people don’t buy it. You know where it goes from there.

The problem is, critics don’t rate matchmaing; they rate campaign. If campaign gets less-than-optimal marks, than not nearly as many people will buy it. I do think they should start making campaigns more extensive and longer though.
And it’s an FPS. First Person Shooter. Shooting and killing is the whole point; anything else is icing on the cake.

lol, critics are not going to rate your game down for having puzzles or variety. Those things are critics’ darlings. If H5 came out and had a structure like half life 2, critics would -Yoink- all over it.
No changes? Come on. The campaign IMO was great and showed a new light to Master Chief, and the fact that they actually touched on the morality of the Spartan program was a nice move on their part.
Halo is one of those few games that actually has BOTH GOOD Multiplayer and Campaign in one game installment. Compare this fact to other games. Its either only the campaign or only the multiplayer that is worth buying the game.

Just when I thought this forum could not get more obnoxious. Even Op just agreed that a large percentage (what percentage exactly, I don’t know if anyone has) don’t even have live.
Of course, you’re obviously just a troll trying to start a flamewar, so I’m gonna just ignore anything else you say.

They’d rate it down if they screwed it up, I said. And there’ve been some stuff meant to add to the experience but weren’t too popular with some fans; boss battles in Halo 2, or playing as the Arbiter as a focus character, which is probably why it wasn’t in Halo 3.
And the stuff you suggested isn’t really “Halo”. I mean, maybe we could have some RPG stuff in a spin-off, but for one of the main games, it should stick closely to its roots. Puzzles? Maybe, if they’re done right. Overall, though, it’s been pretty good so far.
Considering they had a metroid gameplay designer on their team, I half expected elements from that game. Kinda disappointing that most segments of the campaign were recycled from previous games.
Sorry to burst the OPs bubble, but the halo 3 campaign was completely diiferent from what came b4. Equipment (the only change that actually worked in halo), brutes instead of elites (fail), and new flood forms ( plus 1)

Week 1 of Halo 4 compared to last week isn’t proof?

Lol…
I’ve heard that a monkey went to the moon and ate a banana while its owner jogged 10 miles on the moon. Nothing definitive, but it might be true.
See why that isn’t really a great way of doing things?
