Why Do the Season 2 Challenges Suck?

So, 343i, a multi-platform, multi-billion dollar company, in control of arguably the most popular video game franchise of all time, cannot make one simple feature of the Master Chief Collection WORK CORRECTLY. This game is/was/could be the crown jewel of the company. Since launch, it has been a glitchy, functionally broken game. I speak now specifically of the Season 2 Challenges; when I *do complete them (all three weeks now), one of three things will happen: it will pop normally, it will not register that I completed the challenge, or it will say I’ve completed it, and not give me the req point(s) and xp - my hub will just sit there showing a completed challenge, and I get nada. Zip. Zilch. Jack -Yoink-. I am seriously almost ready to swear off Halo. And I’m a 12 year vet. Anyone else?

I’m a 19 year vet of Halo, and it’s all working fine for me. Try doing a full shutdown of your console then turn it back on. Just hold down the power button for a minute until it turns off, then once it’s back on it should work fine.

Part of the reason why I have temporarily stopped playing Halo is because of exactly this.

Trust me man, that only works a fraction of the time with this issue.

Alright, we all agree there are some issues in this game.
But honestly, the only issue I have standing in this game is exactly what you said. But it is not game breaking, it does not remove my will to play and enjoy this game.

Frankly, this game is a beast considering how it houses literally 6 games from the Halo - series, bringing back the good feel of Halo and improving on them by adding new elements and at the same time not destroying the original contents. The challenge system has its flaws, but at the same time it works pretty well. The last days now I haven’t had an issue at all with the challenges not completing.
343i has done right by Halo MCC.

Oh, I’ve done that, man. The only thing I *haven’t tried is uninstall/reinstall the MCC, because by the time that finished, Halo Infinite will be 6 months old

You know, I agree with you in large part. I’ve been a 343i apologist from the jump: “Yeah, there’s no more Joe Staten, and Our Lord and Savior Marty O’Donnell is gone, but hey! It’s still Halo! Let’s go shoot aliens and stuff!” But you kinda speak to my point: they’ve had a decade (!) now. Yeah, MCC is an 800 pound silverback, but putting out a big update shouldn’t be this problem-laden. A company this size should be able to put out an update, even a big one, largely bug-free. I get especially cheesed, because in week two, they updated the update, saying, “Hey! We fixed a buncha stuff! Play on!”…and some stuff was fixed…and a whole bunch more stuff was effed up. It just seems so ham-fisted. Even weird stuff like, when I complete a challenge, the progress bar will pop up many, MANY times in a row - kachunk, kachunk, kachunk (the current record stands at over 90 seconds - long enough for me to start my laundry), and it still doesn’t give me the xp or the req points. That’s infuriating to me. HOURS spent on challenges, with no benefit.

Have you tried the games made by Bethesda and Ubisoft? They are big companies, great games but they are 100% more littered with bugs than Halo is under 343i.
I played this Ghost Recon Breakpoint, completely a mess, bugs, bugs, bugs… so many bugs you can hear the “Bzzz”.
EA also has a tendency to destroy their own products.
Bethesda releases games that are great but almost everyone have 20+ gamebreaking bugs.
Halo MCC barely has any noticable ones. We should also respect the fact that these developers deliver us good games and understand how complicated it is to manage making a game these days without any bugs.
