Because they dont have their own mangler to fight against another mangler user. Why not just have mangler/BR as starting weapons? They love the mangler BR combo and it also adds a lot of risk vs reward which the game is lacking with just BR only starts.
They don’t like the prospect of something being able to shoot, punch and kill you in two very quick moves, which is fair enough of a complaint at “high level” play. As for me, I think it’s great. Should be on a longer timer though, just for the sake of not having an army of them on the field.
they shouldnt be considered a pro if you allow someone to get that close and easily one shot melee you. I think the main problem is when they choose to get close but the opponent just has an easily attainable weapon they dont and is too random to fight against
the Halo 2 Plasma Pistol was far easier than the Mangler will ever be, but the thing about BR starts (or M6D starts in HCE) was, and still is, is that if you have teammates shooting with you, there is not a huge benefit from trying to use strong support weapons like the PP or Mangler.
I think they’d really just prefer the Mangler to be placed on maps where there’s only one. They actually like the weapon from what I’ve seen.
Pros hate anything that is actually good and requires skill.
Kinda seems to be the opposite. The mangler is too easy, and allows for faster kills. With it also being common, it has little skill requirements.
Exactly my point though. At mid range it is somewhat effective and at close range it is a monster with a one-shot and then the blade melee.
They want to nerf it the wrong way which will make it a weak gun overall rather than a balanced gun.
Literally cannot stop laughing after reading this. Ontop of this you think people spawning in with the mangler is a great fix…Ryan…you are the mvp of these forums. Your understanding of halo is just on a different level than the rest of us my guy.
Because the pros hate anything that is fun and their sole mission in life is to ruin games for people who play them as, ya know… GAMES and not a job.
youre the mvp of not understanding anything people say so you mock instead
Haha bro it’s just that I can’t help but laugh man. Like do you even think about what you’re about to send? Everytime I read your threads or even your ideas man I’m shaking my head.
If you want to feel like you single handedly fixed the game though, well hey that’s great! ![]()
Maybe go and scold all those pro players while you’re at it to though. How DARE they let anyone get close!? They’re not pro material at all! The great Ryan of waypoint has made his point!
The same dude who said snakebite would get killed by a gold player because strafe and aim skill don’t matter…when the dude literally 1v1s on his stream sometimes…and perfections happen on players that were far, far, FAR ahead of gold skill level.
You’re the GOAT of the forums Ryan.
Aren’t the biggest complaints about it is that it’s respawn time and getting multiples on it then what the weapon can put at at once?
all youve done is continue a previous dead argument. gold players are not brain dead. what separates golds from pros is map knowledge, knowing when to shoot, when to retreat. stick a gold in a empty room against a pro and he can win a BR battle or atleast keep getting close.
Pretty much. It’s a very strong weapon, and should have a longer respawn timer. I’ve seen suggestions for it, but the respawn timer and how many can be on the map at once would be the best starting points for the competitive setting. I’ve heard some want the melee combo to either be slower or not 1 shot beat down and instead 2 but personally idk how I feel all about that.
The mangler drop shot combo to me personally is one of the very few extremely satisfying things to do in the game in terms of engagements. So it’s a fun weapon to pick up for that reason and it’s strength up close as well. There are other weapons also capable of such things, but I think the mangler main concern just revolved around how often it comes up like you stated. It’s mainly over competitive settings.
I don’t want to revive this topic and put it here. You’re absolutely wrong about this, and it can be demonstrably wrong if you wanted to actually test this out. It’s not about being brain dead. I told you in that other thread…replace gold with the word high daimond, and then maybe the point can seem more valid. There is a significant difference in strafe and aim skill within the ranks, and that begins to fade away the higher you go where then that’s where players are really more separated for map knowledge, spawns, decision making skills, etc. The aim and strafe skill still has differences among the higher players too, but its less significant than a gold to a 2000s csr player of all things…let alone…a professional player…
That’s all I’ll say on this. This is your thread about the mangler. If you want to reply on this topic, that’s fine but I won’t reply on this and hijack the thread. Besides…there’s really nothing else to even say over it.
yes, because the mangler requires skill. You should be hired on immediate for balancing.
double the spawn length and give it 1 clip of ammo, balanced.
Nice sarcasm. But seriously, all the Mangler needs is a little less reserve ammo and to have the respawn take a little longer in order to properly balance it out in my opinion. It is a descent ranged weapon and it is a great choice for close-quarters combat.
Honestly I am surprised that people are focused so hard on the ways they want to focus on the mangler when the needler seems to be more annoying in this game. Is it just me or does the pink mist machine now have a faster TTK?
100% disagree a gold would lose a 1v1 EVERY single time vs a pro. sorry.
It’s fast but its kind of weird to use sometimes. I do pick it up every time I am able, but I generally don’t go out of my way for it.
You need to be close range for it to be fast TTK but it’s also kinda weird when you’re too close as the shards fly past your target. It’s definitely strong and is one of my fav weapons to use because it catches people of guard but it is inconsistent.
