This happens so much! I get a flag, about to score, teammate betrays me for it. Why do they do this? This person betrayed me twice, and I was never asked to boot him/her. Why?
Report them, and move on.
Because the booting system is awful, people know this, and in turn the abuse it. They get a laugh out of killing you and score a point. There are frequent instances when the person who was betrayed comes back, kills the betrayer, and in turn is banned!
Honestly, aside from being a good sport, there is no incentive not to betray because it is rarely punished.
9/10 if someone betrays me I purposely do it back, most of the time I’m still in the game but then they betray me again and I just kick them.
I don’t feel bad about it at all either.
> Report them, and move on.
There is no rule against betraying someone, so no, don’t file a complaint against them.
Submitting a player review is what you should be doing if you don’t wish to play with that person again.
Booted two people who friendly’d me for a passenger seat.
A passenger seat.
I’m really surprised people know how to even breathe.

Isn’t submitting a player review reporting them? And isn’t there an option for improper gamership? Which Team Killing is agenst.

Exact same.
there are 2 reasons for betrayals, they either are noobs and just shoot whatever they can because they don’t know and are not good at playing the game. Or they betray you because they don’t like you having something, a sniper, vehicle, or flag etc.

no not same, player review means nothing except it might help you not get paired up with them in the future, but reporting them is something xbox might actually look at and is something that people could get banned

This happens way more than I like. My resolution if they start shooting me cause they want my weapon I unload all the ammo into the ground and as they finally finish betraying get all mad because there’s no ammo ;p.
They betray you because they feel it should be all about them. They are never told no, so when someone takes what they want, they feel like it justifies killing you because THEY wanted it. Plus its also what I like to call the anonymity syndrome because the chances you know or will ever meet this person are extremely small so there are no real world repercussions to shooting me, where if I knew who you were I’d punch you in the face and say things to you that would even make a sailor cringe.
My opinion is that there should be the option to kick for every betrayal, even accidental betrayals.
Then it would be up to the player if they think that the kick is needed. Of course there is those who kick everytime they have a chance, but you have to be careful while playing.
Aaaand then there is those who just troll teammates by shooting them enough that they won’t die from it and continues doing that. But I think that is a different matter.

Never saw a report option. Weird. Been a while now though.
Its like, someone gets mad at you for taking a vehicle and they want it, and they just blow it up and that means THEY cant have it, either. AND they dont have the benefit for their team (scorpion, mantis, wraith, etc)

LOL oh the memories of infection back when there was friendly fire. Good times.

See, the problem is that no one is intelligent enough to make the proper call. I was playing Team Snipers, and my idiot teammate walks directly into my shot, and kills it him instantly. I didn’t even get a chance to reload, as I was literally out of the game in a flash.
I think booting should be reserved for default arms or weak weapons. Few would be foolish enough to waste a rocket shot trying to kill a teammate unless you spawn with them. But a melee to the face is less excusable. However if the rocket betrays two teammates, or the same teammate twice, then it’s okay to boot him.
And Op, were you playing a game of CTF on Valhalla, and was the betrayer a Spartan in Scout armor? Because if so, I was the Elite who was also betrayed.

Many times when I am booted it is the teammates fault also, or all his fault.
One example is when I was zooming with Binary for the Gauss hog turret in Exile, and the exact moment when I shoot, one unlucky person decides to run through the beam. Booted in a second. Why didn’t he jump? And I was the top player with almost half of our teams kills.
That is when the chance to kick for every betrayal system is annoying, but I would be happier with it than the current one with “building up betrayal meter”.
my favorite way of kicking someone and I am surprised it has not caught on is the Left 4 dead voting system. Simple majority rules. I know that people could just have the majority of players and kick everyone on their team, but if they majority of your team doesn’t want you there chances are you are not going to want to be there either.

I think you’re all right, technically. On the 360, there are separate systems for submitting player reviews and filing complaints. On the Xbox One the two are the same option. Also, what game is this referring to? Reach? Because I didn’t think there was friendly fire in Halo 4.
