It makes no sense, anyone who has shot real rifles with silencers/suppressors knows how useful and effective they are. Every branch of the military’s special forces use them. Why wouldnt Spartans? They can handle the extra weight of the suppressor, and typically a silencer would tighten up your groups. Not saying every gun they would need one, but a silenced sniper, BR, or DMR would make sense. Also i know they dont make it silent like they portray it in the movies unless you use subsonic rounds. It just bugs me
Because its simply not necessary, they are only need for stealth missions and those seem to be rare, Spartans have almost evolved from elite speciql forces to a better infantry, taking on fairly simple missions with fewer men and in less time than it would take marines or odsts to do. Besides, muzzle flash and the sound of in suppressed weapons are cool.
necessary maybe not, but they would improve overall performance during the mission. I will agree the unsuppressed sound is better than suppressed

Marines and ODST’s can have silenced weapons since they have an equal balance of silent and strident missions. Spartans are primarily strident, like the Spartans of ancient Greece before them.

Spartans can’t hear anything over the sound of how awesome they are. Why use silencers?

I would think the smaller the team the more useful the silencer is. But they are sent forward before any other troops, Im not saying the need them but when augment and make super soldiers and give them armor why wouldnt you also give them a suppressor option.
You lose velocity with suppressors. Harder to get through covy shields.
