Why do some people want to say no to flood?

I don’t get it what’s wrong with the flood?

Don’t pay attention to them. They’re the Reason why Reach is the way it is.

In my Opinion, The flood is awesome and kinda freaky.

Do you mean the people like this?

I would love for the Flood to be in Halo 4. And it would make sense canonically. After all, Halo Wars showed us that there may be Flood on many different Forerunner structures, not just on the rings.

They should make them a bit more interesting. If they can do that, I’m all for it.

Also, if I recall, 343i mentioned something about another stage of Gravemind. That is something I would certainly love to see in-game.

IDK. The flood helps Halo feel like Halo to me.

It is a very good topic of debate. It is hard to say if they will make an appearance, on the basis of what the shield world is designed for. BTW I make all my arguments based on the game based around a shield world, based on the trailer.

On one hand we know that the Forerunners designed the shield worlds to protect them from the Halo arrays, equally designed to keep the flood out and keep whatever is inside safe. On the other hand, the Forerunners’ execution of the Halo array was not according to plan, and so it would be very possible other things didn’t go to plan, lets say some flood got into the shield world(s).

In either situation, expect the flood to be an important element of the trilogy, even if they arent a focus of Halo 4. The Forerunners didn’t have a good understanding of them, and humans barely have any grasp on the Forerunners, so the Flood continues to be the most mysterious aspect of the Haloverse, parallel to the Precursors. I hope they do have a role in the game, but more along the level they did in Halo 2, and not the focus they had in Halo 3. I hope that is reserved for the Forerunners/Precursors.

I agree, if they make them a little more interesting, then I may actually be able to tolerate the little pieces of space filth.

You realize you have just a little more than half of his posts right? And that it means absolutely nothing how many posts you have, right? Because if you don’t then the word you are looking for is arrogant.

I think that if the flood is going to be incorporated it should be done in new, interesting ways. In Halo Legends we see that there are many more types of flood than just what is seen the campaign of Halo 1-3. Not to mention types of flood that were coded, but never used in the games such as the Juggernaut flood form from Halo 2.

Fighting them the same as they have been would be getting repetitive, but if we can see new types of flood I think it will keep things fresh.

Ahh, yes the Juggernaut. Now would be an excellent time to finally see that guy in a game. A lot of the stuff from Origins I would be cool to see as well.

Says the other recruit.

The Flood is the REASON why the Halo Array, the Shield Worlds, and possibly the massive planet(if not another shield world)that Chief is currently being pulled in to.

They are an essential part of the Halo Universe,so to have them gone would just not feel right.

If a Halo turns up in Halo 4 you can bet flood will be there.

My other account is not a recruit

I think with the better tech they have at their disposal, the flood could be made to fall apart better. Meaning you could take them out by shooting their legs, disarming by shooting off an arm, etc. I think it would make the fights more dynamic so even if they don’t add “new” flood, the play would be new. Remember that the flood start as another species, so if we see Forerunners in Halo 4, and Flood are involve, we will likely see Forerunner Flood. Outside of that any other types of Flood would have to be based off another species, otherwise they would just be making up new types. This wouldn’t be bad, as they did with pure-forms, but it would be stronger for the cannon to have the species be something that already exists non-Flood-style.

Though they could just as easily say that these different types of flood are at the core of the infection, not the periphery like those we experienced in Halo 1-3. Either way, plan for The Flood.
