It doesn’t take long to realize that everything hated about Halo 4 is still alive in Warzone other then the Jetpack.
It still has unequal starts ranging from player level to the amount of money you shelled into the game, you can still just call in any of your favorite weapons this time even more effectively then H4 allowed you too, you can still spawn with various grenades that obliterate the enemy, you can still spawn with weapon mods that completely give you an unfair advantage over another player because they might not of put enough time or money to get that item and there is little to no reason not to just rushdown the enemy and ignore the map objectives like bosses as proven by the farmers.
So why does it get excused by so many, is it because it’s meant to be casual? If so that’s a sorry excuse because so are social gamemodes and yet they don’t take a dump on the Halo formula like Warzone does.
If you want large chaotic battles then why wouldn’t 343i just release a social BTB mode where you still have the same number as Warzone just without all the extra slap. Should 343i leave the PVE for Firefight?
Thoughts?

So, who’s alternate account is this?
Also, I think most people excuse Warzone because the Halo 4-type stuff is more or less contained within those playlists. Arena is left untouched by the concept of loadouts, armor abilities (unless Spartan abilities count), armor mods, and other WZ-only things.
Warzone is the best thing that ever happened to Halo. I love the fact that I am rewarded for grinding with better weapons/mods/vehicles than noobs have access too. Seems perfectly fair to me.
To me warzone sort of replaced BTB. It’s just fun to play, winning is secondary. So I’m not that concerned about balance, I’m just goofing off mostly. i play arena when winning is important.
There is a difference in a game mode and effecting the entire multiplayer.
Don’t like warzone play arena where it has equal starts.
And the issue is? You know what I do since I don’t like warzone? Arena. You know what I do if I don’t want to do arena? Btb or action sack. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with warzone being there so long as it doesn’t take away from other playlists. Same applies to those who -Yoinked!- about breakout being CoD-like. There’s a reason they have variety in playlists, to offer different experiences to those who want it. H5 as a whole isn’t built like h4 was so I have no issue for the most part. The only issue is warzone takes away from other playlists and the sad thing is warzone is still underwhelming even with it being the priority.many games have variety in play style, playlists varying in gameplay, different goals/objectives, etc etc. I believe if there was a different dev than 343 they could make it work where halo is catering to many audiences while still holding its identity.343 at least improved in containing the bad of h4 in one playlist rather than it being the majority of the entire game, that is why I don’t see your point.
At least all the dumbest features are quarantined in warzone.

You seem like your on the attack but all I did was ask a question. Why do people excuse it? People hated Halo 4’s style and yet somehow love Warzone which is Halo 4’s style. It it’s a matter of having different playgrounds it’s a matter of why bring back something hated but somehow it’s now loved.
It’s baffling to think of since it means people didn’t hate Halo 4.
I just hate that 99% of armor unlocks are tied to the extremely long REQ grind that otherwise mostly just benefits Warzone, especially when I don’t get paid as much for playing arena. That and Warzone is hell for a solo player like me.

Warzone is a section of Halo 5 that is not competitive and was never meant to be competitive. If you want the way Halo used to be, you go to Arena.
Halo 4 did not have that. All of Halo 4 was this way. There were no ranks, there were no Equal starts (until much much later), weapons were fundamentally broken, the entire game was based on Loadouts. There was no “traditional Halo” to go to.
On top of it, 343i tried pushing it further and treating the game as a success, and tried to make tournaments out of it.
That is why people are okay with Warzone and not okay with Halo 4.

I tend to look at WZ as not being Halo at all. It’s something else entirely. It trades under the Halo name, but with the size, REQs, vehicles, load outs, and movement mechanics, it’s a good and fun game in its own right, but it ain’t Halo.
Trying viewing it that way. I think you’ll enjoy it more. I know i do.

I’m not trying to attack you and if that’s the impression I’m giving my bad.
as I said tho: warzone is exused (to a degree) because it’s contained to just one playlist and not the entire game. I don’t mind all the h4 elements being in a seperate playlist that I rarely play. I can’t speak for others but warzone is a good casual screw around playlist when the time comes. It’s also the more vehicular focused playlist as well since btb was dumbed down. There’s then the op weapons used for chaotic fun. Don’t think of warzone as the entirety of h5 but just one section of it. People let it slide cause there’s other parts of the game that don’t function like warzone and do meet their needs. People really didn’t dislike h4s gameplay, they disliked it representing “halo” but would generally say it’d be a fun game without the halo title. I also don’t see it getting this “love” that you speak of. While it is the most played mode in h5, it has an abundant of issues. Many play it for the req/xp output (was the only reason I ever really played it for) to get their armor and SR as fast as possible, it’s also a good way to get commendations, and a good way to stat if you’re that kind of person. Warzone idea isn’t bad, but its implementation could’ve been much better.
am I coming a bit clear on why h4 didn’t get a pass but warzone does to an extent? Even the guys above this post get the idea. Think if warzone as a seperate thing, not the entire game. H4 was designed completely around the concept but warzone is just ONE piece around it rather than the whole pie.

But that just implies that Halo 4’s issues weren’t it’s problems but was the ignorance to the problems which isn’t true.
I don’t see why people have faults with Halo 4 but not Warzone which has all the issues of Halo 4. Being casual has nothing to do with the the drastic differences since that kind of thing can happen in social playlists as I said in my OP.

Halo 4’s problem was both. It made changes to the series that didn’t work in general (bad weapon balance, armor abilities, small maps with no power weapons on the field, not loadout weapons being loadouts), and then tried to pass that multiplayer off as the “new Halo” while forgetting about “traditional Halo”.

Except it does, because people people care less about equal starts and such in a casual environment. Having a mode where you can try out all sorts of different weapons and vehicles, on a large battlefield, is fun as long as it doesn’t extend to the entire game. Also Req’s aren’t random on the field, you pick when you use them, nor are there armor abilities, nor are there really kill streaks in the same way h4 had them. It’s not an exact clone of h4 or its faults.
Additionally they are in fact people who liked halo 4’s multiplayer.
People largely complained about h4’s multiplayer because it wasn’t competitive. h5 nicely sections off the competitive parts from the more casual parts. Yes, they COULD have just made a casual playlist, but instead made one where people could play around with casual features.
Says the SR ZERO guy. Anything you say is invalid.

Reachs grind was longer.
People appreciate Warzone but not halo 4 because in halo 4 the premise of unfair starts and load outs and calling in weapons was EVERYWHERE, and it was completely and utterly unbalanced in every way possible. But in Warzone everything makes sense, has a purpose and is avoidable if you wish not to use it. It represents no issue to the whole halo community as most people can simply leave and okay arena or custom games or just play another game in general.
You don’t seem to get the arguments that people are making. Halo 4 was hated due to the overwhelming push of load outs which was far from what halo is, It was not only in the casual play list but also in the competitive play list. Warzone is a very very casual gamemode thats centred around “FUN”. It’s excused because it’s in a SEPERATE gamemode and not a central part of halo, it’s not a competitive mode. That’s why you have arena, balanced halo game. Warzone was designed to have these elements, that is the centre of war zone, you are judging the mode with a standard it wasn’t trying to achieve, you are putting labels on it that shouldn’t be placed on it. If BTB had the layouts and weapon spawning than it would be an issue, but this is not BTB. You hate war zone, cool don’t play it. It’s obviously not meant for you. In halo 4 loadouts and score streaks were pushed down your threat, war zone isn’t.
