hey guys, I just want to report an issue going on the halo CE community or non-players who have not experienced halo CE before, quit in the middle of the game. I’m seeing this frequently, I’m guessing the theory that players who entered the game of halo CE online matchmaking, supposedly are not experienced players who not knowingly of what is going on in the sever or how the gaming mechanics works in the game. I’ve experienced two or more halo CE matchmaking games of infinity, sidewinder, or hang em’ high where my team who is the losing team quit to easily, the number of team members I had, drop to 8-2 players left or maybe it could be Internet lag but I’ve never seem so many players leave the game on my team. Probably I know for some of you who are halo players, gotta stick to the game no matter what, halo is just halo, except the gaming mechanics keeps changing, you gotta as players should use the advantage that works for you . Anyways leave a opinion of what you think of halo CE and how it works for you.
Quitting out of CE games is rampant. I think it’s because it’s so different from the other Halos.
Quitting out of any Halo variant in MCC is rampant. If CE is even worse it’s because, as Klifftacular said, it’s the most different from the others.
Many people hate halo CE. There are many who hated Halo 2. There are many who hated Halo 3. Countless people hate Halo 4, not to mention reach. Ive seen players in the MCC quit for MANY reasons, many admitting it clearly on their mics
I still find people constantly quitting in the HALO CE playlist, as well is other Halo specific playlists. People don’t just quit because they hate a “different” halo or because it feels weird. People quit for SO many reasons… its frustrating.
I don’t care if its halo 4, halo 3, halo2, or CE. You know why??? Because this game was made with all 4, and that was what I was excited about in this game; VARIETY. Seems to me most people bought it wanting to play their halo and were pissed to find their game to be mixed with the ones they don’t want. Get over it. They are all halo, although very different. If i suck at CE, i play it to get better and be a better overall HALO player. People who quit are cowards, cheaters, and are ruining the game.
Had one group of teammates (3 guys in a party) playing BTB recently. 1 Flag came up (as it consistently always had in BTB) and the teams were set to start. The players ( who i reported and also messaged privately) called out " aw this is capture the flag screw this." and they all quit. we lost the game 5v8 even with over 110 kills.
Constantly have player quit playing BTB or Action Sack when “their” halo isn’t chosen. Its often clear when theres a close vote, say 3 to 4, and when their map doesn’t win the vote they will often quit right away.
One person quitting also leads to the classic domino effect. I often stay in games when Im a man down and LOVE to win with a man disadvantage. But i can’t play anymore 5v8 or 4v8 BTB.
Someone needs to slap these stuck up YOINKS straight. If you don’t want to play CE (for instance) then don’t play playlists that have CE on them. Go play the HALO 4 playlist, or simply sit through one game every once in awhile that isn’t your favorite. Come on people, what happened to people loving halo and not just being a bunch of whining a$$holes

People quit out from CE because there’s no betrayal booting. So, rather than letting teammates betray them over and over, they simply leave. I’m sure a great number of players quit whenever H1 wins the vote before the match even starts, just so they won’t have to go through this.

Wow. Just wow. I did not realize this. Just another reason to have a CE 4v4 playlist. At least the people that go there want CE. And for me personally I would usually have some friends with me in case there actually were some sociopathic griefers.
They can’t handle the Scorpion Pistol.

You rightly point out that quitting is driven by a lengthy list of problems, and many individuals who quit a given match are often motivated to do so by more than one of these problems at the same time.
But I singled out the above quote as, I think, completely failing to make the connection between all the forces at work which drive quitting and the responsibility of the developer to build a game and matchmaking system that actively, if unintentionally, coerce the behavior. It isn’t enough to say “Here’s some Halo. Behave well, don’t quit, and have some fun whether you like it or not.” Completely unrealistic. 343 cobbled this game together with little or no thought for matchmaking, and it shows in everything from basic playlist design to the inevitable imbalanced teams at the end of every single match. So while it seems perfectly clear that the developer is at fault for failing to design a workable system, and for perpetuating that faulty system instead of redressing its shortcomings… people choose instead to come to these forums, to threads such as this one, and berate the players. I contend that the players are not the problem. The game is the problem. And when you say things such as what you said above then you are encouraging 343 to address this problem with threats, bans, and punishments. Standards enforced with a firm hand is one thing, but the environment they have created, especially now with the tragically flawed xbox live rep system mechanism, is purely punitive. If 343 was a parent, and we were her children, she would be creating an environment where some will thrive in spite of her neglect, and those who are the object of her actual attention will grow up to be borderline sociopathic.
I’m not trying to suggest that I think the MCC matchmaking system is repairable. Even if they wanted to fix it (and they don’t), it isn’t. But I hold out great hope for Guardians, even though the rep system issue is a dark foreshadowing of what may come. But I still wish that when people look for ways to address quitting, that they would see the problem for what it is - which is to say, something that goes miles beyond mere poor sportsmanship - and try to realize that the hand-slap approach is not just inadequate, but actually ethically questionable.
