Is sprint a good thing? Or a bad thing? Why?
I’m not sure why people are complaining about sprint now when it has been around for over 5 years in Halo. It really does not make a difference other then it makes transportation quicker on foot. The fact of the matter is Halo is changing and has changed a lot since its first release. If anyone doesn’t like the new changes there is nothing wrong with playing MCC.
I would say good thing, as it speeds up gameplay and involves less time spent wandering around. It should not be overpowered, however. Shields not regenerating is a great addition, and perhaps spartan charge should be nerfed as well
I prefer no sprint, but I don’t feel like it is nearly as detrimental to the game as some people think. Not having sprint forces players to commit to gun battles and also forces players to actually think about their map movement and use of cover. Sprint completely negates that in many ways, but mostly because of spartan charge. People blindly sprint around without a single ounce of intelligent play in their brain and then they get rewarded for blindly running around. That shouldn’t be the case, but spartan charge makes it not only possible, but likely. So, while I can tolerate sprint, spartan charge is just an annoying mechanic that having radar visible in games only exacerbates the problem.
The real reason is because when they were going for a kill some one got away and they raged and was like I would have gotten that kill had they not implemented sprint!

100 metres and you run 10 metres per second
200 metres and you sprint 20 metres per second
The fastest time by default you get somewhere is up to map designers.

Both factors depending on far more factors other than your ability to choose when to go faster.
halo was long overdue for sprint since halo 3. The only thing i dont like is the spartan charge. sprint is really good especially on these halo 5 maps.

“The real reason pro-sprinters like sprint is because it makes it easier to get away from battles they lost and they like hand holding in games.”
Are we really going to devolve it into who can reiterate the most ancient personal attacks on the other side?
Then again, pretty much a redundant thread seeing as there’s another on on the first page.

I don’t care either way. I love Halo with and without sprint. It’s not some game breaking mechanic to me. I can play either way. Just last night I was playing in a group in MCC in BTB and we voted HCE and H2 every time.

Good for you.
Think it’s necessary to comment in a derogatory way of those with a different opinion than you then?

How was it derogatory?
I think it’s a moot point. People that complain about sprint are people that just lost a game imo. People will complain about anything if they’re losing. The truth is sprint does nothing but add a new dynamic to the game and people are afraid of change. You mean I have to change my style in a game?? God forbid you evolve as a player.

I personally don’t like sprint, it allows dumb positioning and it allows for dumb plays like rushing back to where you just died from, I see this one alot from newer players who have maybe come from other fps games, they just rush back over & over. You could strongside in other games though but I feel I got punished way more back then than I do now. I don’t mind it in this game but would rather not have it but combined with Spartan Charge its ridiculous just like the double pummel from Reach.
Its standard in fps now unfortunately because it gives the impression that its a quicker game, which is a myth.
I dont like sprint and clamber. Bad maps, bad flow, bad/cheap aim mechanics…
I just don’t understand why there is still so much debate about something so insignificant all the arguments for it and against it are just ridiculous I don’t see how its a game breaking mechanic making players “blindly run around and not make intelligent decisions” and I also don’t see how its really all that necessary either also based on previous arguments saying that it didn’t make a difference as far as speed from point A to B supposedly but either way I just doesn’t matter to me I’d rather focus my attention to actual problems with the game
Because they’re stuck in the nostalgic past and refuse to accept the inevitable.

Your answer is right here.

The thing is, one side can present objective reasons why it’s bad, while the other just says feelings and says everything is subjective.

Is CSGO stuck with nostalgia? I’m pretty sure 657 000 people can tell you you don’t need sprint for a game to be successful.
I don’t mind sprint that much, but I guess I would prefer if it wasn’t there. It adds nothing of value to the game. I haven’t actually seen a decent argument as to what sprint brings to the game. If they want to make the game “faster paced” then just increase the walk speed. Sprint itself is pretty pointless and doesn’t mesh well with the maps. However, I really hate spartan charge. It allows people to run corners and close quarters like complete idiots and just mash melee when they see somebody. It knocks you way too far back and makes it ridiculosuly easy for your opponent to finish you off as you try and gather your bearings.
Maybe I just need to git gud but I think spartan charge is a mechanic that is currently too stupid.
