You can goto waypoint to see your stats and skill, there is already true skill matching. So why do you need a number next to you? Actually you have a number with the progression system. I just want an understanding that’s all. Don’t let not have a true skill number turn you off. Halo 4 has many features that will keep you playing long after it’s release and for the people that think it will go down like reach cause it doesn’t have visable ranking, that’s laughable. I feel like everything you like about the trueskill ranking is already in the game so what’s the problem?
An incentive to win

So they brag to others in their lobby.
“Ommgg I r haz 5 * genralz lok at me ima soooo cool nd im so betar then u!”
> An incentive to win
Should be trying to win any way lazy
Tis the vocal minority of the Competitive players shooting off their mouths at a insignificant number. Thats all folks.
> An incentive to win
You have that. Even in halo 3 not everyone wanted to win at objective. They just stat padded. I’m not gonna lie in halo 3 I felt good when people noticed my high rank and was in aww lol but that is not important and not aving it will not turn me off one bit
First, they cimplain because of no rank system and now they complain about no visible rank system are these people ever happy?
I like to see where I stand compared to everyone else.
I don’t care whether they add them or not. It doesn’t really affect how I play. I know my skill level, and my progression is still visible to me anyway. I can show how good I am by beating other players - I don’t need a number next to my gamertag.

Or maybe its to help us gauge how good we are, where we stand. Maybe its something to strive for, something to motivate us to get better. Maybe its something to give us the incentive to try in each game and win. Maybe its something that forces people to implement teamwork in order to win.
I want VISIBLE RANKS so my team mates work together with the same common goal. There are too many QUITTERS in SOCIAL PLAYLISTS.
> I like to see where I stand compared to everyone else.
I understand that but is not having that gonna make you feel sour about halo 4?
Same reason that their are leaderboards in video games and sports. The difference between that and waypoint are waypoint does not know if you are sitting in team slayer killing 4 people not playing which is why you have good stats or if you are beating better players and achieving good stats.

So what you are saying is that for you to really try to play a game your best, you need a skill number just sitting by your name? I couldnt give two rats -Yoinks!- about rank or skill. I play for the thrill of the game, not just some numbers.
I liked a rank system because it encouraged me to play more playlists and get better in them. I see nothing wrong with wanting to get higher ranks to show I am better than other people. It also kept me from having to play with guests and typically people acted less like 5 year olds, something that 343i is catering too more and more with each decision they make (teabagging holograms really? yet you will permaban people for making a sexist comment? the -Yoink- is this).
You know what made people like halo? Not driving around in warthogs like 5 year olds racing, not armor lock, not jetpack. It used to be your good honest FPS. You go in, you shoot the other team, you capture the flag, you plant the bomb.
Don’t like ranks? They had a fix for that in Halo 2, social playlist. Go play with your bad guest there and enjoy the game.
Allowing guests in all playlists is the worse idea ever! Typically it is two 13 year olds who are going to act like bigger -yoinks- feeding off of each other’s immaturity.
Give me a ranked playlist, you can have your -Yoink- play list. We do not need to cross paths ever.

An insignificant number?
I’m not even going to bother.

Because morons can’t create self-motivation.

Then give me a ranked playlist and you can have a social playlist. You can have fun playing with -Yoink- guests and we do not need to cross paths. I give zero -Yoinks!- about you enjoying the game.
