They’re trying to prove the majority don’t like the game? It’s a ridiculous argument, not even CoD is pulling off incredibly high numbers.
It’s been proven over and over why does aren’t a good representaion, I went on CoD the other week and it’s pop was only 250k while halo’s was 160k (this was around nov 30th). And we all know that millions more ppl bought cod on xbox than h4, yet it is only bringing out a couple hundred thousand ppl online. Does that mean the majority hate the game?? no it does not.
tl;dr pop statistics aren’t a good basis to know if majority likes the game or not.
Well I played CoD;BO2 friday prime time, and I expected millions to be on or at least 1 million. But no, prime time friday was 400k max across all modes. Now I clearly remember having over 1 million players for the first 3 months on both MW2 and the original Black Ops during friday prime time.
Even CoD doesnt have the stellar numbers is used to pull.

Exactly, I went into it thinking I would be blown away by pop. numbers when that just wasn’t the case. Using the pop. argument just shows you are desperate for a reason to show that this game is widely disliked, when really you’re the minority.

Around 1pm GMT, I know a lot of the Americans are in bed by then but still.
…maybe this is why they’re shafting the Europeans with the specialisations

Oh, that makes more sense.
You know, it wasn’t even 343’s idea to do the specs this way. Micrsoft just came in thinking it was a great idae to send us the specs. by email.
Why do people use the 1-50 rank levels are a pointless number arguement when the SR1-130 is even more pointless and they don’t have anything to say about that? Being a high level in Halo 2-3 either meant you were a good player or you cheated to get to that level in various ways there for indicating something that you could tell about a player when playing with them. This means that this “pointless” number wasn’t pointless and it actually had a meaning and told you something about the people you play with/against. On the other hand SR1-130 tells you how much people have played so far FOR NOW and after a while it won’t tell you anything about players, making that number the truly POINTLESS one.

This has nothing to do with what i posted, and I haven’t seen people claiming the the 1-130 prgression system is a good basis for skill level.
Population is a clear indicator as to how many people enjoy the game.
Competition has always been around. Halo 3 was released when Gears of War was huge, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was released shortly after. Also, there were significantly less Xbox Live members back in 2007. Regardless, the community maintained a 300,000+ player base at almost any given time for an entire year. That means there was a sense of longevity to the game, and it was done right.
When Halo 4 was released, for the first week there were 400,000+ people on at any given time. At this point we’re lucky to see anything over 100,000 (see Playlists). I feel like Halo 4 lacks the same sense of longevity Halo 2 and Halo 3 had. Everyone strived to improve so they could rank up. Now you can go -20 and lose every game and still reach SR130. This gives me no incentive to try.
I’m not saying Halo 4 is bad. On the contrary, I’d say it has potential to be the best Halo to date, but in order to for that to happen there needs to be some adjustments. 343i should listen to the community’s petitions and consider implementing them (I think they already are).
