You always see people saying why they are NOT good, but no one ever makes a practical argument about why either of those things (especially sprint) makes Halo play better.
Can anyone give me some reasons?

Ads is a loosely used term.
ADS has always been in halo. Just only on precision weapons.
The reality of the situation is that it doesn’t matter if sprint is good or bad. sprint is here to stay. Nothing positive will be gained from debating it further. everything that needed to have been said has been said more then once.
TBH I find debates like these to be ultimately pointless. 343 has a different vision of halo. trying to use logic from past halos to compare it in recent halos for the sake of balance is illogical. they are fundamentally different. The share the same universe and the same base gameplay. Just different additions that make for a different experience.

No reasons for sprint in Halo. They cant argue nothing.
The Sprint makes the game faster. I know some people don’t agree with that, but I do.
I also helps in BTB or in big maps like Warzone. Because let’s be honest, it was boring to walk from the bases to the middle on Valhalla.
I understand why sprint is good. In the older games I have been taken down many times because I couldn’t get to cover quick enough.
However, I don’t like ADS on all weapons, for me it just doesn’t work on weapons like the assault rifle, but it is needed on weapons like the BR.
Actually, a lot of people have explained many times why they prefer sprint ― it quickens the long walks between fights and offers enhanced environmental utilisations. Personally, I like sprint because it makes the Spartans feel and play like actual Spartans. The fact that people are still debating sprint, the main improvement of the late-second and third generation of FPS, when we’re in the fourth generation, seeing jet-packs, thrusters and air-to-ground attacks, is comically ridiculous.
As for Smart Scope? It’s a smoother animation than the old, binary way of zooming.

Sprint eliminates Halo’s sluggish feel outside of combat. Let’s be honest with ourselves, taking a brisk jog from point A to point B while nothing is happening has never been exciting. Sprint benefits the game’s feedback by giving the player more control over their movement. The more control players feel they have, the better time they’ll have playing. Sprint further separates good and bad players, where bad players will Sprint recklessly, good players with know when not to Sprint, allowing the good players to have an even bigger advantage over the bad players because the good player accounted for this new gameplay element. Sprint also necessitates the enlarging of maps, making grenade spam less effective, and makes the Assault Rifle and SMG less effective as well, something I’m sure the competitive community can appreciate. Larger maps also allow for more time to plan out encounters, and minimize spawn killing.
Smart Scope, or ADS as you call it, is hardly new to Halo. All that’s happened is that zoom has been redesigned to use the gun’s model for ranged aiming rather than some separate tunnel vision screen, and has been added to all weapons that previously didn’t have it. This potentially allows for greater immersion, and is more aesthetically interesting. It’s true that it actually tightens your weapon’s spread this time around, but honestly that’s something past zoom should have done anyway. It’s a more stable and focused mode of aiming. To say it shouldn’t make your weapon more accurate flies in the face of zoom’s suggested effect. It doesn’t negatively affect your movement, or at least not enough to be noticeable.
I couldn’t care less that these features are similar to features of other modern shooters. I like what they do for Halo 5. These are things I wish could be retroactively implemented into past Halo games. If Halo comes to PC, if there were mods that added Smart Scope and Sprint to the games, I would definitely install them because their effects of giving the player more movements options, and making the games more immersive and more visually pleasing, is only a good thing.

Except for the fact that “they” can, and your comment makes you look like a ―BLAM!―.
As soon as your group can offer anything outside of, “Because it’s not Halo!”, and that, “Halo is dead!”, you’ll have the beginning of an argument.

And then Halo 4 sold millions and became the most popular game on TMCC. Oh, but wait! 343 were lying, right…?

You’re literally offering nothing* in the way of an argument, which is incredibly ironic considering the title and OP.

H4 was a wasteland 3 months after launch… and the Halo Community was nerfed absolutely.

This is “generation-CoD/Michael Bay” speaking…
There has to happen someting on the screen at any ginving time, expolsions, collapsing buildings, arms moving because you’re “sprinting”…
Gamers these days can’t appreciate the beauty of the mixture between action and “silence” but this mixture is what made Halo great 14 years ago.
No matter if talking about MP or SP but Halo allways had this mixture of fast paced action and “cool down phases”
Personaly I think it should have stayed that way, people how want to have -Yoink- happening non-stop could play CoD and Halo would have had a chance to retain it’s roots…
Also “I’m sure the competitive community can appreciate”?!
You’re joking right? Most competitive Halo players despise sprint, I have no clue where you’re taking this piece of “information” from…
I’m not going to argue your sprint arguments…been there, done that and I’m not willing to waist my time on those kind of things any more, you got you’re way of twisting things, I’m seeing stuff fundamentally diffrent

Yes, months after launch, just as Reach. But again, when all four Halo games were presented to the Halo community on a single disc, Halo 4 was― and still is― the most popular. Why are you refusing to acknowledge this?

Ok, recap…
Arguments pro sprint: I feel a supersoldier, is a modern feature, make faster gameplay (those just forget they are a target when sprint), is cool, I like… blablabla and the only one honest “I can run away when have troubles”.
Halo has being along standing game, but it can’t remain in the past other wise it will get old fashioned. If its to continue it needs to evolve. Sprint helps that, by making the game a little bit faster. That’s a major thing, Sprint helps to increase the game speed without to much intervention from other mechanics to help. And beside sprint is better than jogging or walking in a game.
