Since when is having perfect accuracy and fast reflexes not skill?
What exactly is “skill” then?

Skill must be how much you can complain here about what 343 is doing…
Fast reflexes and accuracy is skill, but regular gametypes require that as well as even more things.
It’s like everything else in life: to make you better at doing what you like with out caring what others say
I like SWAT. Let the overly critical suit themselves.
Swat in definitely not my gametype, but I wouldn’t say it doesn’t take any skill. If it didn’t take any skill, I wouldn’t get owned in there everytime I tried to play. =p
There are many skill sets in Halo. Swat uses fewer skill sets, true but those fewer skill sets need to be much stronger in swat than normal team slayer.
Specifically skills of: team communication, knowledge of high traffic areas of map, spawns, and obviously speed aiming.
It is much easier then normal halo. where I am decent in normal match making, ,I can be extremely amazing at swat.
So that’s why there is people who look down upon it. Though you should pay no mind and enjoy what you enjoy the most. Just keep in mind, it does take less factor of skill then default halo.
Swat: Whomever fires first gets the kill.
Ex: I RARELY play Swat and when I do, I usually end up in 1st or 2nd on my team.
It’s like Living Dead’s Alpha Zombies.
Because SWAT is easy.
Anyone who thinks they’re good and is a SWAT player isn’t.
Unfortunately there is a prevailing belief among some players that if you dont play what they play then you are not “good”. It basically equates to a high school click of girls who think anybody who is not a cheerleader is not pretty. Kinda sad and petty but try not to let it get to you, try and remember, if that is their thought process, they must not got much going for themselves outside of Halo, which is also tremendously sad.
Its human nature to complain about things. Nothing is perfect

Perfect accuracy and fast reflexes is a skill.
And when playing SWAT, that is basically all you need to dominate. When playing regular Slayer/Objective, there are so many more skills that come into play and can effect the outcome of the game.
Perfect accuracy and fast reflexes is like having raw talent. You are going to do well, but you will only be so good. You will hit a point where everyone has those skills, so they aren’t as impressive. That is when the other skills of Halo come in to play.
There is skill in reflexes for SWAT, the only thing that makes me hate SWAT is the fact at close range, people just spam and one player gets lucky over the other one.
SWAT does take raw instinct skill. Reflexes and accuracy. While it isn’t the most skillful because other gametypes has more in play that you must manage, it is probably the gametype that requires the most raw skill outside of Zero Bloom…but you can even still win a DMR duel in ZB if you’re caught off guard.

I don’t agree with this, I think playing SWAT a lot vastly improved my skill in other playlists. Because of SWAT, I have bumped up my sensitivity in Reach to a 6 or 7 and I have much better accuracy. I also learned map movement from SWAT. Granted, I don’t think SWAT takes as much skill as other playlists but I think one can improve their skill in other playlists by playing SWAT.
That is skill, but most players feel that it isn’t the big picture.
Be like me, if it’s halo, i’ll play it.
If im bad, i’ll get better.
It’s how EVERYTHING works.
Off topic:
If you want to play with a high sensitivity, than you should play some halo 3. It gets me so much better since it’s normally a little faster. I play on 10.
Infection takes more skill than swat…
SWAT is either a glorified campfest, a glorified game of hide-and-seek, or this game’s hardest attempt to be CoD.
Halo isn’t just about shooting the person, but managing to shoot the person consistently in order to get that kill. Killing the average person in CoD or Battlefield will take… roughly half a second to two, provided you don’t miss. The average kill in Halo ranges from two to five, depending on whether they’re using precision weapons or if they’re strafing/using grenades (of course I’m not factoring in snipers or other power weapons into that; those are designed to get quick kills). Consistency is the key word here: Sure, you may have landed that first headshot, but if you can’t land four more when the guy is now aware of you and possibly shooting back, then you’re -Yoinked!-.
SWAT just requires good aim and quick reflexes, and while that’s also pretty essential for a good Halo player, it doesn’t require consistency. The one-hit kill also tends to make people camp more than usual, which a lot of people (obviously) don’t like. I like the occasional SWAT game, but if I am dying to play something like SWAT, I’ll probably just play CoD instead, tbh.
Simple.
A lot who are great at Swat think they are the top -Yoink- in Halo and flame others (ala stat flaming) who are “beneath them”. The thing is, normal Halo requires you to drop shields, go for power weapons, and hold key points.
Swat just requires you to have beast reflexes, pull host/fiber optic connections/bridging host, and to camp really. To many, that’s not Halo.
Same can be applied to those who play Swat or normal Slayer and try to go into the MLG playlist. If you don’t know what to expect or if you didn’t have any practice, your going to get stomped on.
However, i am just stating my opinions on the matter. If you love to play SWAT, then go for it! =) No point in playing gametypes you don’t enjoy after all.
