Why do people say halo 5 looks better

I truly do not understand why people say Halo 5 looks better than the new Halo Infinite. I made a comparison side by side and infinite looks so much better.

People like different things, and that’s okay.

Because H5 was very crisp and clean looking, and some people like that. It was going for a more photo-realistic look while Infinite seems to be going back to the more stylized graphics we had back in the day. As said above, some like that and some don’t. I’m glad to see us going back to the more stylized look I grew up with, but I’m not surprised there are those out there who prefer the more realistic graphics.

What are you talking about? Halo 1 and 3 had great looking textures for their time on enemies and environments. Also, plasma weapons emitted lights that appeared on the environment.

The only Halo that looked this cartoony was Halo 2 because they focused on enemy models, scrapped realtime lighting, and had to put the game together in 14 months. And Halo 3 multi-player armor textures.

They just want to defend their millions invested into warzone, and likely just saw the demo and not the trailer that looks better. Also in youtube there is a beta version of halo ce called 1749 that looks way worse than the actual CE and guess what? It was exactly 3 months away from release as well.

In today’s society, people tend to be impatient and reactionary. The demo definitely has areas it needs to be improved in, but at the same time it’s hard to judge something when it’s not a finished product AND when you’re streaming it on a cell phone or computer. Between the unfinished nature of the demo, the method many people watched it, and SOME people’s biases, I think it was a perfect storm that led to so much hate.

Call me crazy, but I still prefer how Halo 1 and 2 look compared to anything after ODST.

That is what I been saying and I like the direction Halo Infinite is going.

I think a lot of people forget that the Halo: Infinite demo is just, well, a demo. The graphics might be better upon actual release.

Infinite looks better, just need a little details.

I think you’re missing the point…the demo was made several weeks ago, there very close to a release date and they can only do so much in such a short amount of time, even then the ‘ray tracing’ won’t be ready for launch. They might need to delay the game, take their time.

I guess it all depends on what “looks better” means to those people. Infinite has texture clipping, emotionless faces on enemies, plastic-y looking guns, etc. But on the flip side, Halo 5 didn’t look like halo for reasons that been talked about for a long time now. I personally haven’t seen many people saying H5 was better looking halo game than infinite in terms of the style though.

Ray tracing?
