False, weapons are not balanced around range in most cases. They are balanced around ease of use and relative power, hence the sniper having no penalty when not scoped.
Because it was designed to be used at closer-ranges by becoming less accurate at longer-ranges.

Which implies that the reticle doesnāt move as a result of that shake, before resetting to the default position. Which it does. Because I watched two separate videos that showed it moving. It also funnily did not happen for the Carbine.
Which means that if the red reticle is slightly on the moving target, then magnetism will kick in and move one of those shots on the BRās random spread onto the moving target. Thank you for proving my point.
When I say ālaser beam,ā I mean extremely accurate. This was the problem with Halo CEās Pistol - it was extremely accurate. Kind of like a laser beam. Funny that. The other issue was that the Sniper Rifle had drop and travel time, making it harder to use over range, whereas the Pistol did not. The Pistol also had a huge clip.
Bolded the important bit for you. Regardless, it still makes sense that mechanics reinforce the designed ranges for these weapons. The Sniper Rifle is perfectly accurate no matter the range, making it ideal for any range. The Battle Rifle has a degree of spread, making it more suited for medium range. The Assault Rifle is a hose that is best used at close range.
Also, Iāll take a Carbine over a BR in Halo 3 in most situations. Funny that Bungie decided to allow players to spawn with the, according to you, far superior Battle Rifle instead of the Carbine, which you claim is inferior.
And you do this with falloff bullet magnetism and slower projectiles, not RNG.

The camera shake also moves the crosshair, but not where the shots go, you can replicate this easily in the mod tools.
And so it works for the Carbine the same, instead of getting partial damage for missing 2 out of the 3 shots you get full damage. Less skill.
It wasnāt pinpoint accurate, and it was skill based which balanced it out. Another sign youāve never played CE.

Not sure how itās funny, no reason to spawn with the carbine since it serves no role in the sandbox and the BR is a better weapon balance wise ontop of that.
Never played ranked again when I realized there was no reason to play. They put me at the highest rank you could earn out of the gate. That proved enough for me that Iām better than most people. The bell curve, even those more people get placed in diamond 1 in proportion to whatās actually considered the middle, pts me ahead most other people. This and also the fact I over performed in my ranking matches to the point where it was easier than any social game I played to date. Any time I was invited over to play ranked, past my initial ranking, was a stomp as well. Itās not something I enjoy playing.
I just spent 5 minutes looking for a weapon so I could help my team in BTB, and every single rack was empty the entire time. I did nothing whatsoever except run around being useless for 5 minutes.

Ppl who like AR starts just are bad players or very casual and want spoon fed kills. They donāt want to work for them, they literally want the game to be as easy as possible without a challenge. BR starts turns their works upside down.
The arguments about not using weapons on map if you have BR starts is the dumbest thing Iāve ever heard. Every halo that has had precision weapon starts has always utilized the sandbox. To say nobody in halo 2 or 3 picked up the plasma pistol, brute shot, beam, rockets, carbine, Needlers, plasma rifles, sniper, sword, etc or vehicles is absurd.
Those making claims like that have no idea what their talking about and have entitlement issues
Stop just running around that longā¦go for kills if a weapon pad doesnāt have anything. Also i donāt believe the 5 min running around not seeing a weapon. In the same way i never believe people when they say the AR is cross mapping them, that simply isnāt happening.
In BR starts you donāt even have to think about going to a map weapon so the mere fact that you tried for that long to get a map weapon shows how much more weapon variety AR starts does have.
Okay bigboy, time to pull rank. Iām Onyx and got there relatively easy and i prefer AR starts. So donāt get all cocky and say you think Iām bad for liking AR starts. (Also before anyone says im only 1500 onyx, i only play halo once every couple of weeks maybe once a week max so i just havenāt had time to push up higher, also there really isnt any good incentives to do so since everyone at onyx gets the same emblem but ranked rewards is another topic for another time)
We arenāt saying that all other guns never get used at all. Earlier i talked about how many guns just get used much less because why do you need to risk going to grab them when you already have a BR?
Also notice how you left out a huge chunk of the sandbox? Yeah guns like the H3 magnum, AR, spiker, mauler, sentinel beam, etc almost never got used because they were crap back then compared to a BR.
Best part of Infinite is it finally has a decent AR. Been playing Halo for 20 years and in no game was the AR really worth anything. We arenāt arguing to go start with the trash ARs of old because that would suck big time. We are saying we like how Infiniteās AR plays, we understand people like BR starts, donāt kill AR starts and give us BR social starts, and donāt kill BR starts and give us AR ranked starts as well.
I personally find the BR super easy to use. Its a point and shoot laser. Whats hard about using it? It has almost no downsides and until Infinite it still killed ARs at close range. I never have to worry about staying right out of range of map weapons so i can kill the enemy like in AR starts because i can easily ourange everything with a BR, i never really have to worry about pushing or positioning because i have Infinite range, and in ranked i really only push the rocket as pushing for any other map weapon really isnāt worth i when i can just post up with a BR.
Bruh 5 minutes you couldnāt think of ways to be useful? The weapons donāt take 5 minutes to respawn anyway, so like are you saying that you fell apart anxiety wise?
If you canāt pick up a BR just try to get close and pistol spam, pistol spam works even on the pro level so to say that you canāt do anything without a BR is just sad. Thereās vehicles everywhere, other lesser use pickups everywhere, you can always just be a decoy or try to intersect in battles.
There was NOTHING on ANY racks. There isnāt enough racks of weapons to go around for 12 people. And I wasnāt just going to run straight at the enemy with the AR lol.
The AR is actually decent in Infinite so you would be fine if you had any positioning skills.
Saying you wonāt push out means youāre that guy who just stares at a wall in the base waiting for a BR because you donāt know how to use any other weapons in the sandbox.

This has always been my case. You cannot say that starting With AR makes the game any easier, Just gets you destroyed from further faster with a BR. Acting like people starting equipped with a long range weapon shouldnāt hinder your choice in picking up a weapon on the map. Different situations call for different approach. Their balance has always been a little questionable when it comes to weapon balance.
