I think people’s hatred for it sources mainly from the frustration with the way 343 has managed it. Sub-par ranking system, lack of dedicated servers, long matchmaking times and some still-unfixed game-breaking bugs and glitches continue to plague the game today (to a certain extent). That’s not to say it’s unplayable NOW, it actually functions properly today. But because at its release it was completely unplayable, that made people think it’s a bad game. And some people’s opinions don’t change.
Personally, ATM, it offers better than Halo 5 in every aspect of the game with the exception of forge
I like it just for the coop campain, the oline is i agree still fun on somedays.
I purchased this game on launch, took it home, let it install and download the “day 1 patch”, went to matchmaking and got 1 full game with even teams the entire first week. As time went on most of the initial carelessness that was put into this game was patched out. Little crap ranging from from 1st place being “1th” and teams being matched against individual players, all the way checkpoints in campaign failing and random game crashes that required a hard reboot of your console. While most of this has been patched, I’m sure most still feel sour over the initial garbage they had to endure.

The MCC still matches teams against solo players, not only in unranked playlists but also even in ranked playlists. The game is still not fixed…

I was curious, because whenever people say it’s super broken, I’ve never ONCE heard details, you -Yoinking!- retard.
The only reason people hate it is because it’s broken and filled with glitches. I liked it but can’t play it with anyone. Takes forever to find a match with friends only because of low population. Also MCC was only given one update and put aside. People only dislike it because of the glitches.
Well, for one, co-op campaign over XBL is borderline unplayable, as my friends and I verified earlier while trying to do Halo 3 on Legendary. The game freezes entirely, and we periodically get kicked back to the main menu after getting black screen’d. Not to mention the half-second lag between pressing a button and performing the associated action in-game.

Achievements don’t unlock, Playlists reset randomly or go back to levels from a previous game, disconnects when doing co op despite all people having great connection, double screens, game chat stops during games at times, Halo CE hit detection is off at times, Halo 2 slayer spawns are messed up, Halo 3 hit detection is way off, Look up Halo Bugs for all the Halo CE bugs in this game, Halo 3 is the launch version not the patched version, cross game playlists kill the matchmaking specially BTB where Halo 3 always win over CE and 2 unless you rig the vote as a party. Want me to continue?
Because 343 mutilated it. Halo has never been more buggy and they lied about playing the game how it was and how we remembered it as they changed a few gameplay globals tags (PC Halo modders would know what I’m on about).

This^ but I do love the “idea” of MCC it just wasn’t executed properly

I’m confused by what you mean are you saying it isn’t broken or is?
Would it be worth the money to purchase the Xbox one for the MCC or to just disregard it, and stick with the 360 with the non-glitch campaigns? I am seriously considering purchasing and Xbox 1 S just for the sake of memories, and am looking for input.

I’ve never had ANY of these issues. Am I very lucky, or am I too stupid to notice, or just flat out blinded by nostalgia?
