I understand people hating the campaign, but I think the multiplayer is great. Would someone please enlighten me on the subject?
Campaign was a bloated mess. It’s hilarious that Hunt the Truth which was promotion had a much better story than the actual campaign.
Also -Yoink- the Warden, the stupid AI, and Blue Team being in a game and being completely utterly underused in the plot.
Seriously, the writers for the story need to be fired, so bad.
Arena is fantastic in my opinion, and I think it has become my favourite halo multiplayer. NEEDS MORE MAPS however. WHY IS OVERGROWTH, TORQUE AND RIPTIDE MISSING FROM TEAM ARENA? If it wasn’t for Arena being so good, Halo 5 would be by far the worse in the series.
Warzone is meh. Pay to win, unbalanced, steamroll fest. I am either having a fun time playing around with all the -Yoink- I don’t really care about that I unlocked playing arena, or I am getting stomped because my team is being gang raped by the enemy who has now snowballed out of control. Dull, and sometimes painfully frustrating. Not a fan.
343 made the game more on the competitive side, kinda ruined the whole fun of Halo.
A lot of us don’t like the gimmick abilities. The super useless 18m radar. Pay-to-win BTB (aka warzone). Super effective automatics that have a questionable range. No Elites in MP (not my particular thing , but many jimmies are rustled over this). Horrible Campaign with bland protagonist 343 shoved down our throats for months. Micro-transactions. Horrible progression system. Horrible marketing (bait and switch marketing , by some standards).
Need I continue?

Havent even finished the campaign :P. But Halo 5 is my favourite since Halo 2. I enjoy some of the Arena modes. And glad they slowly adding more social playlists. I enjoy the Spartan abilities and never get why people cry and complain that its ruined Halo. People moan when games stick the same, but when they try and innovate, people moan they want the old system back!!!
Warzone is amazing. And NOT Pay to Win at all IMO. People may have all the cards. Problem is you can die straight away with them (nothing more frustrating). But a semi decent player would spawn a counter weapon, stay away from the guy with a power weapon. Or team up and go find him. I do think earning REQ points is a bit slow and needs to be increased and a well organised team can steam roll through. But for me anyway this doesn’t happen to often.
Just need more maps in general TBH. I like they are adding more community made maps. Would love more Warzone maps. Maybe when the official updates are done. Allow the community to create Warzone maps in Forge and do a rotation every month or something.
The game is harder than most other Halo games, besides maybe HaloCE, in terms of individual skill. I think most players realized that their aim isn’t what they thought it was, since the auto aim with the pistol isn’t as strong as with the BR in H2 for example, so they complain endlessly about anything they can to justify their lack of success in the game. Most of the complaints are baseless, like radar, pay to win/microtransaction, and auto’s.
i hate on campaign, but on the flip side the multiplayer is up there with 3 if not higher.

Story didn’t live up to expectations. Was still good enough. One thing that annoyed me is that everyone knew the existence of the Guardians without any previous knowledge about how they obtained any information explained.
Multiplayer: Missing over 30 weapons and equipment. It’s lacking 25% of original content. Multiplayer and forge though are excellent.

Lots of the general hate for halo 5 confuses me, but maybe that is because it is my favourite game
Really it’s the lack of support for the Social community. I’m not saying they don’t get stuff, but 343 drastically underestimated how important that community is to the longevity of halo as a franchise.
Could care less about single player, not for me in any game. Love the multiplayer mode though. Would love to see some tweaks with Warzone. Drop the AI and the timelimit. Play to 1000 based on capture points and kills only. Kinda of a ramped up Stronghold mode.

The bolded, is opinion. I myself find it easier. Starting with the Campaign alone, being the only one in the series, I have ran solo Legendary. Then MP, I do believe I have a higher KD/a then what I had in 4… thanks Spartan abilities real helpful ; ). Probably be higher if it wasn’t for the bunched up playlists forcing you to play various games just to play your favorite. Which that alone is half the reason why I don’t play nearly as much I would. Who evers idea it was for the bunched up playlist, needs to be tossed out.

I am going through the campaign on legendary solo, I am only on the second level but it is pretty easy so far.
People only hate Halo 5 because other people wreck them.
Campaign was bad and dissapointing especially after hunt the truth, and multiplayer is generally considered good, but there are still people that hate sprint, “advanced warfare” thrusters (this one I consider unjustified) and other “gimmicks”. Warzone is fun but it shoves micro transactions down our throats but it’s not necessarily pay 2 win and arena desperately needs some more social playlists. It’s safe to say that halo 5 is a 50/50 halo game.

The criticisms are not baseless. If the weapon balance is skewed in favor of the skill-less automatic weapons, then there is a problem. And microtransactions are forever evil, and there is no excuse for them that will persuade me to think of them as good.
Halo has never had auto aim ever. Not in CE, not in H2 or H3, and still not in Halo. Ignore Favyn’s commentary, and focus on the game he is playing. When the cross hair gets a box around it and highlights an enemy in red, that is the auto aim kicking in.
Also, compared to the previous aiming in the older, better (Opinions) games, the aiming in Halo 5 is crap and is inconsistent. This has been echoed by many in the community, so it is obvious that there is an issue with the game.
From complaints I have seen on here as to why players hate H5 in no particular order… #1 they feel microtransactions are evil, even though H5 holds no content behind a pay wall as other franchises do… #2 all armors are at the luck of the req system essentially, only a couple can be “earned” #3 not enough master chief or blue team missions. #4 autos are effective weapons and BRs/precision weapons don’t dominate in every situation. #5 lack of game modes/playlist. #6 to many remixed maps, pretty much all qcq maps, #7 Spartan charge… #8 Spartan charge… yes it’s so bad it deserves to be mentioned twice… those seem to be the most popular… I like Halo 5… to me it’s slightly better than H4… if it had better arena maps, especially in btb, and an action sack playlist it would be way better than H4.
Oh and it’s too “competitive” what ever that is supposed to mean… apparently there is a pretty big crowd who never really play to win… don’t know where they where when I played because every game of Halo I have ever played where against players trying to win.
