The subject pretty much says it all - almost all of the posts on these forums complain and whine about how 343i is changing everything that is the “core” of Halo.
In my opinion, if you want the same cookie-cutter game formula over again go play CoD. Halo has always been an evolving experience - taking chances in gameplay as well as a bit in art style/play style. Why are people so afraid of “change”?
I, personally, think the direction 343i is taking the game will be a positive experience. It’ll take a bit of time to get used to and they’re likely still a bit in the experimentation/learning phase of taking over the franchise.
As it stands, I don’t think Halo 4 is better or worse than any other Halo game… simply different.
That Halo 4 is a new game in the series automatically makes it inferior to the last installment despite the flaws. Don’t debate this with me and yes, Reach was such a better game. Fanboys just sucked at it, that’s all…GOD!
Even Halo 2, the worst Halo game of all time, is better than Halo 4. Time to go back to Reach and Halo 3!

Perks? Check
Bonus for getting x amount of kills? Check
Killcams? Check
Individual loadouts? Check
A campaign with missions ripped straight out of Gears of Wars and Call of Duty? Check
Pointless quick-time events? Check
Playing Halo 4 is playing COD, which is what a lot of people don’t like about the changes: it is becoming the same cookie-cutter formula game.

Fixed* Halo 2 > Reacharound
no tagbacks
p.s. the fact you still had Reacharound, means you failed

People who complain don’t hate change, well, some do, there’s always that little group that hate change itself, but most hate change when it’s for the worse.
The best example is perhaps the change from Halo 3’s balanced slayer to Halo 4’s unbalanced Infinity Slayer. I’m not talking about Loadouts now either, it’s the ordnance drops, with a few small additions and tweaks the matches could be balanced while keeping the new stuff such as random ordnance.

So you like changes like having just 1 variant of gametypes? No more 1 flag CTF, no more Assault? Just 2flag CTF like every other game with CTF. Do you like not being able to pick up an enemies frags that you just killed unless you have the coughscavenger perk I mean resupply? Do you like Power weapons disappearing under 10 seconds? Do you like the removal of medals like perfection and weapon sprees, but the addition of close call and distraction medals? Do you like the removal of X’s on teammates death’s? Do you like the lack gametypes that can be made in custom games?
I can go on and on about these smaller changes, and these aren’t changes to make additions, its taking away what was already there. Not even getting into the big changes most people are complaining about.
Some changes are better. Oddball is a great change, except auto pickup, but a lot of these changes I just named are taking away what we had in previous Halo’s and seem like its changing just for the sake of change.
I’m not even getting into the bigger changes most people are complaining about, like no Ranks, how its no longer an arena shooter, and more of a loadout shooter and CTF mechanics etc, etc…
Some of these changes if people don’t speak up will be changed for good, and never to come back. Like no more 1 flag or assault, great offense/defense gametypes that are not on Halo 4, and cannot be made(making 1 teams flag unobtainable and manually switching teams would not work for MM). If nobody speaks up stuff like this will be gone from Halo for good.
im not a fan of how it jingles around in my pockets.
but in all seriousness. people will say something like “change for the sake of change is never a good thing.”
i say why not? or who said it was just for the sake of change? the way i see it every change made to the game was made for the sole reason of keeping the series from stagnating. im okay with the changes, i find halo 4 to be quite enjoyable.
honestly if you asked me if i would ever go back to playing halo 3 after having played halo 4 i would say no. why? because i have seen what halo can be and i liked it, why would i take two steps back?
