It’s obviously accidents, you are now at a disadvantage, why do you do it? because you’re a small child thinking it’s funny?
Next Question, why is booting in grifball anyway???

An ‘accident’ shouldn’t occur 3+ times in a single match. Some people are just plain careless.

Its gravity hammers… And a small map. Some teammate decides to lunge at my target that I’m about to hammer do I deserve to be booted? People run in front of hammers or Spartan charge targets in front of you… Are you defending those idiots

They aren’t always accidents. If I get betrayed and there isn’t a red dot on the radar I’m going to remind you what Italy is shaped like.

Not at all, I’m just not going to defend someone who apparently has zero map awareness. Radar tells you where your teammates are nearby. I’ve had 60+ kill games without a single betrayal. It isn’t hard to pay attention. If you can’t help it then distance yourself from them.

You must play the most boring Grifball games ever. So say it’s 4-4, they’re rushing your goal and you don’t have time to switch to your sword. They’re above your goal and all your teammates are trying to swing and get the kill, but you just step back? Hell no! You push in and make sure they get no where close to your goal!
I don’t fully disagree with you though, people need to understand where to go and what their teammates are doing but you can’t say that you’ve played games that went high kills no betrayals therefore everyone else can do that because not all games play the same. I’ve had high kills, no betrayals. I’ve also had high kills, many betrayals.
I agree. I got booted just for hitting a teammate when he was in my way-_-
Its not always accident… ive been intentionally betrayed by teammates who just want the ball from me… this is the only time i kick people
Sometimes I’m spamming the jump button when I suddenly get accidentally betrayed, and I accidentally press “Boot Player” in the message without realizing it because I was spamming the “A” button, so sometimes I boot by accident.

Except not everyone shares your mercy, every time i play with randoms, they boot for some reason
I’ve accidentally booted people. The option to boot will pop up for 0.0001 seconds and im already pressing A because im trying to jump and -poof- they’re gone. Its obly happened a few times but everytime, ive messages then apologizing for it

Yea if you kill someone more than 3 times in a row you may need to start reevaluating your hammer swings.

Exactly.

Another reason why bumper jumper is better
Oh look banhammer strikes because some idiot walked in front of me while i was defending our goal, gg 343, g -Yoinking!- g
I stand my question, why the -Yoink-, is there a booting and banhammer for grifball
To answer your question, OP, the booting and banhammer functions in Grifball are to prevent purposeful betrayals, which happen more often than you think. Halo 4 had a large problem with player betraying each other to get the ball. I hope that helps you understand why the functions do need to exist in the Grifball playlist.
As for everyone else, it’s far easier to teamkill in Grifball than you seem to indicate. When I play with randoms, it’s extremely common for them to run straight into a hammer swing I intended for an enemy. Other times, there’s so many people so close to you that you can’t keep track of everyone and you accidentally kill someone. My main point is that the booting option is far too strict in Grifball. Accidents happen, and they happen frequently when eight supersoldiers are locked in a room with hammers that distort space-time and swords made of burning-hot plasma.
If you’re going to run around indiscriminately and mindlessly bash everything and not care about placement then I’m going to boot you. You deserve to be booted.
honesty time.
because it is fun. the game gives you a loaded gun and asks you to pull the virtual trigger on someone you have never met. it’s a power trip, everything that person has accomplished in the match goes right out the window by your command. i don’t play grifball often, because i know i am the type of person who pulls the trigger just because i can. i don’t care about winning, i am a casual. i get req points either way,and the amusement i get out of pulling the trigger on a boot far outweighs the amusement i get from winning one match of grifball. if 343 gives people the power, some WILL alwase use it. if 343 wanted to change it they could fix it like they did with SWAT and remove friendly fire. they obviously don’t care, so be careful because when that screen pops up, people like me will push the button every time.

Except when you have the most kills, there is going to some random jump in front of you.
The only time I have kick people in grifball is when they stop trying to win and only team kill.
