So after a long break of halo 4 for a week or so I decided to come back to play the rotational playlist this week. Im thinking “time to play what I payed for”, I go to search a match on the squad dlc and then it’s says I can’t play it all because I don’t own crimson, now I’m not like red face mad but I’m just mad that I can’t play the playlist with the maps I already have.
I want to play the other map packs without crimson (my opinion the worst map pack) and don’t feel like spending money. 343 can you please make it so you have to have at least one or two of the map packs that be great.

Sorry, bud, but in order to play in an all DLC playlist, you have to have, as the name implies, all DLC. I’m pretty sure that other people who wanted to play Crimson maps regularly and got matched with you would not be very happy to see an absence of Crimson maps repeatedly. The purpose of a playlist such as Squad DLC is to allow DLC owners to play ALL of their DLC, so they have to require all of it to get it. Crimson actually isn’t that bad. Harvest is awesome, and so is Wreckage. I don’t really like Shatter, but it’s most likely aesthetics for me. If you want to play what you paid for without spending more money, you can search with friends who also have the DLC you have, but otherwise there’s really no surefire way besides buying Crimson DLC. Again, sorry, but that’s the way it has to be for now.

You are allowed to play on those maps. But you aren’t allowed to rain on other’s parade in this playlist alone. I agree, it is your opinion whether you like the maps or not. However, if you stick to that opinion and do not buy the maps, then there are consequences for the action. You will not be able to play in Squad DLC. That’s just the way it works, bud. Sorry.
This is why I really think that matchmaking needs a huge overhaul in the next game.
I should be able to put on a filter to search for other players by a map pack and it would be nice to extend that even further to have the option to search by a map as opposed to a playlist if I so choose to.
