Why do I get worse?

People always say “oh you learn from losing” but so far I’m just getting worse and worse the more I’m playing. It’s becoming less fun and more frustrating the more I get my -Yoink- handed to me on a silver platter. Is there any tips to keep a consistent good 2.5 K/D?

Treat each game as a unique experience. Try to clear your body and mind of any adrenaline or frustration left from previous matches.
Don’t put too much pressure on winning or losing a match, simply play the best game you can each time and pick up little improvements you can make to your game every time you feel the sting of death.

Easy in theory, hard in practice I know… (just look at my KD, nothing to write home about :P) but I’ve found that if I’m on a losing streak the best thing to do is take a break for a while (couple of hours) and come back refreshed and ready to learn and have fun some more.

Thats what I try to do as well
doesnt always work though

Getting yourself in the right state of mind is obviously a huge deal but for something a little more tangible & easily attained, go on youtube and learn a few trick jumps on some of the maps.

When you learn the jumps, those are permanent, tangible things added to your arsenal. There are some really good ones on Plaza & Fathom that really help you get into advantageous positions

And just watching pros play can help you in general because there is always something new to learn

I find that I play better when I play for fun rather than to win.

You’re probably going on tilt. Getting frustrated will just make you play worse.

This^. Take a break for a day or two, no joke. Play something else, get your headspace out of Halo and when you come back you will perform better.
