So i made a smurf ive been playing for a while on Martinez HCS. I do well with Champs and against champs. I match pros every now and then too. But if i play on my actual account i get rekt by platinum level players. Like hows that make sense. I only search the HWC playlist. I assume its the MMR why i match high ranks.

That’s cause some Platinum level players are actually as good as Onyx/Champs but they solo queue and can never win enough to gain actual rank. I can confirm that some platinum level players can wreck high level players and they are just stuck there due to Halo 5’s crappy matchmaking system. Also Champs are more predictable because they actually play the game right.
Because rankings in Halo (all Halos always, not just this one) are a Rube Goldberg machine designed to do I’m not even sure what but ultimately succeeding only in confounding and frustrating players. They are too flexible while not being flexible enough, transparent and simple while also being completely opaque and so complicated that no one besides their creators can understand them (if they even really do…), they’re tamper-proof and yet manipulated and cheated by unscrupulous players to the point where I start to think there are more smurf accounts than real ones, and they’re 100% accurate at all times while simultaneously driving any thinking person to shake their head on a daily basis. Kinda like you’re doing right now with this thread.
Yea if you place Platinum you are literally screwed and doomed to stay at that rank. Not only cus you get teammates that are of all skill levels but because if you have a high KD you can match Onyx and champs as a platinum player and everyone on your team will still be a platinum.

K/D has nothing to do with matchmaking. Matching is done based on your hidden MMR, which is also based on win/loss. If you are matching Onyx and Champs as a platinum, it means your MMR is higher than your CSR.

Honestly, it’s time to wipe the ranked tier system. It’s so late in this game’s life that it doesn’t even matter anymore due to the amount of smurf accounts and dwindling population. It’s to the point where players can’t even have fun while legitimately trying to win games and advance because they take losses to smurf accounts/teams.There is no point in showing rank when the entire system is being manipulated.

i feel like the lower my KD is the better teammates i get.
I read on another thread about test done with smurfs where they proved that new accounts have bigger hit boxes and get better teammates. You could have your main and a smurf the same rank but with the smurf you get decent teammates. Plus matchmaking sometimes doesn’t know when to give you better teammates. You do good, still lose. Do bad, still lose and the game still wants to match you against more challenging adversaries.

What? Hit boxes don’t change based on the the length of time an account has been playing, they don’t change at all. Can you link me to this other thread?

i feel like the lower you KD is the the better teammates you will get. I dont have proof obviously but 2 smurfs one with a low kd and one witha high KD. the Low Kd one i won most of my matches in HWC and ranked Diamond 5. The high KD one is ranked platinum 6 with 47% win percentage.

Ok let me explain how this one works and I still can’t fathom why this is even a thing but here it goes…The hit box is all based on YOUR connection to the server. The better your connection is to the server the more hit box you have to work with. For instance if you are on a server that’s in your area you can damn near shoot to the left and right of the head and still have it count as a head shot. Where as if you get a server that’s East coast US and your West coast US you have to be really precise where you shoot because if your a tiny bit off then the shot won’t count as a head shot which can sometimes lead to BLANK shots. It can get so bad that if your playing on a UK server, you will literally have to lead the shots if they are moving. Now new accounts don’t have bigger hit boxes but new accounts do generally get better servers than main accounts. This has been proven by many streamers that smurf and I have tested it myself by making a few smurfs. Playing on smurfs is now preferred than playing on a main account because we get better servers which is why there are so many smurf accounts. Also that second part about getting better teammates is not true at all. If you continue to over perform on your smurf you will actually get WORSE teammates because your hidden skill rank will become too high. But the problem is by doing this the game will give you easier players to play against since it picked you to carry all those teammates. Hence once again why smurfing is preferred over main accounts.

I misremembered what I read but this is a better explanation. Of course you will get worse teammates once the MMR gets too high, but if IIRC the game needs about 50 games or so to know where to place you correctly. Which is another reason why people make new accounts after a while.
Edit: The connection to the server is true. I’ve seen the game trying to connect me to servers on the east coast and Europe when I search on Focused when it does not give an Unable to match error.
