I play on xbox one and I don’t mind playing against pc players cheats will always exist no matter how hard they try to ban these types of people what really worries me about crossplay is having to play against people from pc and x series that go at 120 fps it is totally ridiculous to play on xbox one it does not feel quite right and much less fluid at this point I prefer that they do not launch multiplayer for the xbox one version or make it only play xbox one vs xbox one or maybe make that the xbox one version runs at least 60 fps although I don’t know if this is possible
I agree with you they are part of the same spectrum, no argument there. But there’s many different types of aimbots and other cheats, I just can’t see how some people genuinely think it’s the same thing.
Similarities? Sure. But the gap is so massive I think it’s unfair when people essentially imply they’re on the same level or even almost on the same level. At the end of the day your aim still greatly depends on you and a legit hack doesn’t.
Right and aim depends more on M&K then it does on controller. Because you have to aim “less” on controller than you do on M&K. And you have to aim even less with aim bot (effectively 0 aim.)
But yes, I agree. We shouldn’t call aim assistance on controller “aim bot”, that’s just nonsense.
Then we’re in agreeance. I’d just like to add I’d be fine with them lowering the amount of AA. I think the flights felt like a pretty good amount but then a lot of people complained they felt like there was none even though there definitely was, it was just less than people are used to compared to games like CoD, Apex, Fortnite, previous Halos, etc. So they ended up increasing it, just sucks for the m/k guys.
Your issue is you actually think controller players don’t want to play with MNK players. I’m sure people have told you numerous times (including myself) and you may not be able to understand, but I will say it again.
The reason why console players may not want to play with pc players is because of potential risk of cheaters. This has nothing to do with input. Yet, perhaps you read this as “aim assist controller aim bot” and respond accordingly
That’s not my issue. I’m sure a lot of controller players love playing against M&K players.
My issue is (me personally) I don’t want to play with controller players because of their unfair advantage. Similar to how console players don’t want to play against cheaters because of their unfair advantages. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to play against cheaters either.
Yeah it’s not the same. Intentional cheats aka: wall hacks, snapping onto targets, is not the same as aim assist
And the difference of inputs is so miniscule it really doesn’t make that much of a difference unless you’re a pro (which most likely you’re not).
I agree. I am tired of the controller = aimbot arguments. And especially after playing Infinite, I am genuinely convinced people are making this stuff up. It feels like its not even there in this game.
Sorry, but I don’t think you have either the knowledge or qualifications to make that kind of assessment.
Edit: And I don’t think anyone does outside of 343.
I switched to controller last night and if this game’s aim assist is as low as every one says it is, I want to know what a game with high AA is like. Seems crazy to be honest. Like, I have to aim even less? That’s CRAZY.
People claim to set deadzones to 0 and move your stick to activate AA. Try it.
Ye, but you do. So you win the argument there bud.
You must be fun at parties lmao
10% average accuracy differential between inputs certainly doesn’t seem miniscule, but I don’t have the real data set… so? Idk, you seem upset about something.
I’ve never understood replies like this because they literally don’t make any sense at all.

You can only speak for yourself so there is no, and never will be a “we”.
-
For years it has been a known fact that PC cheaters majorly outweigh console cheaters.
-
It doesn’t matter if it’s PC or Console cheaters, all of them ruin something in some form every single day.
Nah, when dealing with ignorance I don’t get upset
This entire post is just OP hating on controllers while excusing actual cheats. OP, if the devs (granted they do have balancing issues with weapons) have had aim assist in for two decades I think it’s safe to say it’s not cheating
Reasons this one would like to play without crossplay:
-
Do not want. Want the option to not use that which is not wanted. Kind of like wanting to be able to turn off accessibility settings because don’t want or need. Options good. No choice is less good. Want the choice.

While perhaps not applicable in this title (which is its own tragedy), back in the day there were these things called pre-game lobbies and in-game banter that happened. On a common platform, it was simply expected if you played Halo on xbox you had your mic in to participate. The functionality is (or was) baked into the xbox multiplayer ecosystem. Now? No pre-game lobby. No real chat. The magic is gone, and that is a kind of tragic***.
*** Provided we disregard the at times excessive trash talking and anti-female sexism.
What has this got to do, if anything, with input method?
There will be never a fair balance between both input types, impossible due to the nature of controller and K&M.
Thus players must have an option and must be able to decide if they want to play against others with the same input type or mixed.

Summary
Wow, you are pretty dumb if you can’t see the difference between input advantage and cheating. M&K users can still KILL Controller players with enough practice, no amount of practice kills a cheater using invincibility or aimbot or insta-kill. Nice strawman though.
