Why Do Console Players Want Crossplay Disabled Anyway?

It seems there are two main reasons that console players want crossplay disabled:

  • Console players don’t want to play against M&K and the much better performing machines
  • Console players don’t want to play against cheaters

Console players don’t want to play against M&K. Why? Accuracy has already been debunked, controller w/ AA is much better than M&K. The advantages afforded to M&K (faster turning, no scoping with sniper is easier) are outweighed by the absolute laser shot afforded to controller with the overtuned AA. Controller players will argue that map awareness and team shot outweigh aim anyway, so what’s the problem?

Console players don’t want to play against cheaters. Why? Wait, so controller players don’t want to play against anyone with an artificial unfair advantage? Hold up, that’s exactly what M&K players have to do to play against controllers w/ their AA and their artificial advantage. So going back to point 1, if aim is such a small part of the game then just use your superior map awareness and team shot to beat the cheater. Easy, right?

In conclusion, advantage remains with console players. Console players should have to play against everyone and the only players that should have the option to turn off crossplay should be PC players using M&K. Thanks for reading.

Because PC players cheat and ruin everything.

So you don’t like playing against someone with an artificial unfair advantage? I agree.

I was concerned about cheaters and hacking, so far haven’t really found one, though i did but could be a bug or glitch

If you look online, for at least 5 minutes, there are numerous clips floating around with PC players tracking you through walls and hitting 6 perfect kills with the commando in a row (as an example). Thanks but if there is no solid anti cheat in place I don’t want to play PC players

Cheaters and hackers are 100% my reason for not liking cross play in Infinite. I had zero issues until weird stuff started happening with Skewers and cross-map ridiculousness. If they can fix the hacker issue then cross-play is awesome. I love playing with my PC friends.

You don’t like playing against players with artificial unfair advantages? Me either.

I honestly think it’s the other way around. Every single live match I’ve watched of halo…popular streamer…the open qualifiers that were going on…FILLED with Mkb players non stop bringing up aim assist, unfair advantages of gamepad players. They’re probably the majority when it comes to who wants crossplay disabled. That is all irrelevant to the fact that input filters should Simply exist anyways though. Who cares about who’s crying over what…give the players the opt in or opt out option. Nothing else matters.

If you think I’m exaggerating over the input argument…watch any streamer or live Match like the qualifiers that took place and just see the toxicity in the chat about this. It’s never ending.

Obvious troll bait. Don’t fall for it.

And I agree with them. Controller is afforded what is essentially a low fov aimbot. M&K players having to play against an input that has to be artificially tuned up is an absolute travesty. The fact that 343 has the ultimate power in how well a controller player plays will lead to the slow but inevitable death of this game.

Please keep your posts on topic and constructive, thanks.

Read my post again. I don’t want to play againts “cheaters”. I wasn’t referring to input as you can play with controller on pc as well.

It’s not an unfair advantage to play against a controller. You just suck tremendously and it shows.

MnK has a wider range of control that a controller, enabling it to play without the need of aim assist. You just can’t stand there’s more of a learning curve with MnK.

So your solution to the whole “M&K vs controller” is to just switch inputs? So if I’m a M&K player that doesn’t want to play against someone with controller because they have an unfair advantage with controller AA, I should just switch to controller?

I’ll counter your point with saying, you should just switch to PC and download hacks if you don’t want to play against hackers. Sounds stupid right?

It is on topic. You’re intentionally trying to bait an argument out of people on a topic that’s been beaten to death and over explained.

XSX outperforms most PCs available at the moment. Especially with the chipset and GPU shortage and price gouging by crypto farmers. You’re only preforming better if you sunk about $5K on a scalped GPU. The fact that you felt that statement was necessary only adds to the fact that you want to trigger people.

Stating that Console players don’t want to play with PC players because of cheaters is the exact same as PC players having to deal with console auto aim is just a laughable comparison. Again, only to bait out an argument.

Let me flip things around… why do you want to play with us?

You know you can use a controller on PC, right?
And that’s a legitimate way to play the game, in opposition to cheating – which ruins the game both for people who choose to play with controllers AND people with M&K.

The matter of balancing Aim Assist is a different topic. One of many issues that 343 will have to balance in this game. It’s not a PC vs. console thing, since even with crossplay disabled you’ll still play with PC players on controllers.

But until they come up with a reliable anti-cheat system, the easiest, most direct way to avoid ruining everyone’s fun is to let people disable crossplay if they so desire. And let you filter input methods in other playlists, not just ranked.

So you admit that the learning curve is greater on MnK. So a player on MnK with the same amount of hours as a controller player will lose to a controller player consistently. Please tell me how that is balanced?

This is the most nuclear take I’ve ever read.

Most Console players I’ve met don’t like playing against cheaters, and the cheaters live primarily on PC.

It isn’t even about the input types. I could plug a keyboard and mouse into my Xbox and play Halo Infinite that way if I really wanted to. The issue is the platform.

Wanting a crossplay toggle isn’t irrational.

I don’t want to play with you. If you actually read my conclusion, the only players that should be advocating for disabled cross play should be PC players using M&K, not console players.

“I hate console players for using controllers” “How dare they not wanting to play against me”. Op acting as if wired controllers strangled his family dog.
